No picture - didn't happen.

BTW, what would you rather take nVidia 1660 or Radeon XT 590??

It almost looks like 6GB nVidia card is better than 8GB Radeon.

Are they both capable to run VR?

I personally would be looking to AMD and either a Ryzen 5 2600x or Ryzen 7 2700x currently costing about £120 and £170 respectively but make sure you get a motherboard that supports the latest AM4 CPUs allowing you to almost double your performance later. That'll save you a few £ that you can put towards the GPU and I'd recommend stretching to the AMD 5700. Couple that with 16gb of ram, decent SSD, new case, PSU and a few RGB lights and before you know it you'll be playing fortnight! In all seriousness though something like that will have enough headroom for many years plus the ability to drop in the faster CPU should you need it.

If you want VR I'd look for as much VRAM as possible and try to stretch your budget to the 5700 as I said above but if pushed on the above I'd take the AMD.

Thanks!

I was reading oculus quest PC specs, and they support nVidia better than AMD.

I really don't know much about VR, should probalby read more reviews.

As for CPU, was thinking to get something like this...

https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-7-2...82E16819113499

What is major difference between 2nd and 3rd generation of Ryzen processors?

Power supply - https://www.newegg.com/evga-supernov...163-_-Product#

Depending on processor, either 2966 or 3200 32GB memory (2 x 16)

M.2 HD - 1TB

What do you recommend as nice and quiet case?

Both GPU's have their pluses and minuses, the 590 is the older Polaris arch for AMD vs. the 1660 which is based on nVidia's Turing Arch minus any Tensor and RT cores.

The biggest issue maybe the Frame Buffer size on the 1660 but that maybe not really be a problem with most if not all current games.

1TB nVME is minimum any longer and should be fine for many years to come.

Also don't skimp on the RAM speed, pretty sure the 3200 kits are the sweet spot now for both performance and pricing, well here in the US that is.

From what I see, second generation ADM processors, like don't support 3200?! Is that wrong, or should I get 3200 anyway??

I am still not sure should I get 2nd or 3rd generation CPU. First one is 8 cores, second one is 6 cores. How they compare??

As for memory, found this. Probably will follow that.

Correct, doesn't matter if the Zen+ CPU only goes up to 2666 or can even OC to say 2933 max or somewhere in between, the fact that getting 3200 will be crucial as you can use it with Zen 2 CPU's as the memory will both under and over clock just fine.

That MOBO is great, it has the larger BIOS chip so you can upgrade to the full on latest firmware to support all the 3rd gen CPU's, this includes the 3950x

Done building my budget computer, will run test tonight.

Here are specs:

* AMD Ryzen 7 2700x (8 cores, 3.7GHz, 4.3 Max Boost)

* MSI B450 Tomohawk Max

* MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super (6GB)

* G.Skill 16GB Memory CL14

* Intell 660p 1TB NVMe SSD

* Rosewill ATX Mid Tower

* EVGA 650W Gold

At the moment as I already mentioned earlier, I have 1 OS drive (M.2 SSD mentioned above), 1TB Samsung 960 SSD for Steam and Games and 2TB Seagate HD for backup.

There is a lot of room for improvement, including larger HD for backup, another set of memory (I went with more expensive with smaller latency with plan to upgrade later to 32GB) and possibly 3rd gen Ryzen once price drops.

Planning to move games I currently play and testing it tonight. What would be good test for this setup??

Just get 3 months Microsoft GamePass for xbox (1 dollar in US, 1 Euro for you). With that you will get also GamePass for PC free of charge. You can play this and many other good games for 3 months and possibly finish them or like them enough to continue with GamePass.

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass

https://www.xbox.com/nl-nl/xbox-game-pass

You can see on bottom of each game if is available on xbox or PC.

Both new AoE are there.

As I mentioned before, tested new setup with Outer Worlds (took forever to download with old USB WiFi. Replaced it today with PCIe WiFI card today. With this computer I was able to play first game @ ultra settings without issues. Here are some screenshots from both games.

Outer Worlds seems to look and feel like Fallout, but since it was from Obsidian who would have guessed this

Nice that the new computer is doing swimingly

You don't know half how much, someone completed the game in like 12 minutes by playing a low intelligence character that is unable to speak. You can't make it more Fallout than that.

There is video with developers commenting speed run, but I did not watch it yet, did not want to spoil end game. (there should be more than one, depending on what you did/how did you do it)

Speaking of Obsidian and Bethesda, interesting video of creative difference comparison between Fallout 3 LV and Fallout 4. Withing few minute you will figure out where is that video going...
