Doing 'polishes' and then releasing basically the original game is happening a bit too often though. Baldur's Gate was already a joke, Final Fantasy 7 is an even bigger joke and now this

You are right, nothing beats a good Competition Pro joystick

Either way, I love coop games and this might be one I could play with a friend of mine, if it gets released on Wii or PS. A 3-player mode would be even better but could get a little crowded. If I did a remake, I'd see if I could use the modern high resolutions to just "zoom out" a bit so more stuff can be on screen and enemies can be seen from farther away.

Dont see why they so keen to get this in on th vita, it is soooooo much more suited to 3ds.

And they are soooooo lazy. Not even improves the sound engine, so sound effects cut out music like in the old days.

I would see no value in buying this game, might pay the standard 69p for it but that would be the limit

Someone tried to improve music in Java version for mobile phones. I think they will not try again.

Music from Chaos Engine for Java in the Zone. Please remember it was made by different musician(s).

^this

Playing The Chaos Engine i cant really understand how we managed to play with so little visible playfield. More games would be perfect with a zoom out function! (which games room for extra player in co-op)

Now get back to Hired Guns

Interesting to see the 16 walking direction sprites. Not liking the "bloom" effect though, it makes everything look like it's melting together.

Hmm, from the screenshots on Steam, it looks like they used the AGA version for the graphics. That's a shame, because I always liked the original graphics much better. The extra colors felt like they were tacked on in hindsight.

They ruined a classic. It looks awfull, with a Sai filter or something similar, in FullHD. The bloom destroys the rest of the fine Bitmap graphics. One of the worst commercial remakes i've seen so far.

Remake vs FS-UAE with a decent scanlines filter.

Played this last night. What a pile of poo. It's literally the original game with some smoothing and online multiplayer support.

Poor poor cash in..

And the scrolling is worser than the Bitmaps did it 20 years ago. Quite an achievement.

the online multiplayer support is actually a really nice addition and should be brushed aside as a quick cash in. But the graphics smoothing... apparently crap and unclear graphics are still better than pixelated graphics.

This is a lazy cash in. They couldn't even be bothered to update the graphics slightly. It looks awful full screen. I'd never pay for this.
