IVP TrumpCard 2000 (Not PRO)

Help

I desperatly need a driver disk for this card or means to provide install and preping /format for autoboot under WB2/3

Came with an A2000 but no driver disk was supplied, did my best to create a floppy but I missed some crucial bits out...

Any Advise or exp with this card pls forward, ie Max drive size.and Tips if it can be setup using HDtoolbox..

Thanks

A daft question but have you looked here?

http://amiga.resource.cx/ for the TrumpCard. They list 2 or 3 different ones.

Cheers Zetro, I'll have a look at Aminet tomorrow, If you do come accross anything pls let me know.

Davido unfortunatly they only have the driver for the PRO card, I don't think it's compatible..

Guess I should look for a GVP HD8 Card... any offers???

Cheers both

@TheCorfiot

my friend, i have been looking at the description on amiga.resource, I think you card may well work, the both have the same chip and the trump pro can run under the driver mentioned above... its possible the DMS image may have the driver you seek... (the tools might not work thought...) but you can just tell HD tools box to use the trump driver instead of what ever driver its currently using LOL.

I may have misread the hardware information - but I thought the driver was on a onboard Rom?!

According to the write up you just have to press the Left Mouse Button during startup to boot from the harddrive

Edit: According to this hardware site http://www.amiga-hardware.com/ The Trumpcard 2000 and Trumpcard 500 are the same. So the 500 Manual and Instalation Disc from the previous site should help you to set this up - fingers crossed.

Have you tried specifying IVS_SCSI.device (on commandline or tooltypes) in HDToolbox?

Oh Dear What a nightmare.

Tried HDtoolbox with both drivers.. I know I dot the descriptions right because it appeared to scan but found nothing...

Booted the Trump Pro driver disk. It found the drive.
Wow I thought, backwards compatibility, how thoughtfull.

Selected the drive and clicked setup drive. program reported it was writing bootbloacks. 30Mins later..still no response...
Rebooted A2000.

Now hangs at bootup with white screen, whether boot floppy inserted or not.. does not respond too holding mouse buttons at boot which did use to give a boot benu....

OK.
Disconnect drive. A2000 boots the same....

Move jumper to KS1.2 Boot or remove alltogether... Boot menu now appears but no DH0: and all software says drive is not connected.
Sooooo.. Jumper must stay in 1.3 POS ... However in this mode I cant boot whatever I do..

Thought about connecting the HD to my PC to format.... however symptoms on A2000 are the same if drive is connected or not...
Is it a flash rom on the card???? and has it been corrupted... If so I think the card is dead.....

I don't think I can do any more???

Well.............

Took HD out and fitted to my PC SCSI Card...
Carried out WinXP Initialise from Disk Manager,

Refitted to A2000. Boot Hang now gone....
HDtoolbox still useless regardless of driver & name... Scans but finds nowt.
This is a really old 40MB Quantum Double thick drive???
Pinched IVS_SCSI.Driver File from Pro's driver disk and added to my boot floppy DEVS & created mountlist.

Ran original ICS TOOLS manually rebuilt from HD's old Conents. new drivers found

Drive found....Low level format....Partitioned....DOS formatted..finally setup written to drive successfully.

Reboot A2000 with Boot Floppy
DH0 now mounted.
Copied all WB2.1 disk files over manually to DH0.
Some manual adjustment to Startup-sequence.
Removed Floppy

And now my A2000 Boots from HD to WB2.1

and Using my 17" Sony SVGA monitor connected to the Microway Flicker Fixer Output.... PAL Full HIRES steady as a Rock...

Right now I need some Coffee.

Zetro.............Got there...........I don't give up easy!!!

Good to hear you got it working!

In the future you can forget lowlevel formats, they are not really needed with any drive after MFM/RLL..

And dos formats should always be quick when talking about other devices than floppy drives. :-)
