Wanted: working or faulty A4000 motherboard

As above, I need a new A4000 board since mine has been damaged by battery corrosion.

It's a bit of a long shot, but I thought I'd ask here in case anybody has a spare A4000 board that they'd be willing to sell.
I'd also consider buying a faulty one depending on what the fault is - I'd even consider one also damaged by battery corrosion if the extent of the damage is less than on mine.

You should get in line! like golddust to get hold off and the people who have an A4000 (well most of them) have spare 1 or 2 spare motherboards they dont want to sell or lend . Mine died recently havent plucked up the courage to have another crack at finding the fault.

How did yours die? The battery problem? Or something else?
I've already had one offer of a mostly-working board (faulty clock circuit).

Repaired the motherboard after some battery leakage, new chips. New nicad. Advised to charge the nicad for a few hours. Left it on and it froze. On bootup everything whirls around. Doesnt fire up at all. Tried most of the fixes. I will have to dust off my multimeter and check the psu and clean the processor board at somepoint. Maybe a project for the winter.

Well, 50 quid is actually pretty cheap. Some people would like to get 300 EUROs for their Amiga 4000 motherboards with Buster 11, Kickstart 3.0, 2 MB chip ; I'm not that greedy :-)

Well, I was given another Amiga with a battery problem (A4000T, 3.1 roms, Picasso IV, Buddha, Ariadne ethernet card, GG2 bus card, VLab 1.3 card, a few other cards as well), but I think I managed to repair this one.

One question: is it normal for an A4000 to take about 30 seconds longer to startup if the clock battery has been removed?

Ok, so I'm a noob? Based on what? My recent join date and few posts? You don´t know shit about me so I don't think you are in a position to make such a judgement.

If you think 50 UKP is to expensive for a motherboard, you are clearly not following prices. It's as simple as supply and demand. Look it up in a dictionary.

DoctorQ : no offense to you but this morning a full tower with A4000 mb and daughterboard has been sold for 121 euro on german Ebay, which seemed already pretty high to me as there wasn´t a single turboboard inside ...
THIS is the link of that auction ..

Yod@ : if you accidently have removed your harddrive then it takes at least 20 secs longer to boot up. Furthermore I also had two not-working A4000´s that I bought from a belgian guy last year. It turned out that one of them had broken traces which needed repair, but the other one had pieces of metal inside the memory holders so that´s why it refused to show any Fast Ram ... lucky for me I could get it repaired but of course not for free

@Effy

Someone is missing the point here. I have never said that you can´t manage to get a cheap motherboard, I´m just saying that cheap motherboards aren´t that easy to come by.

I was offered to buy a motherboard for 300 EURO, so some people out there wants big money for their hardware, and some people wont. That is all I have said, but some people didn´t manage to look through the lines. Was offered doesn´t equal buying it.

You can also be so lucky to get cheap accelerator boards, while others with the same specs go for higher prices; that´s ebay.

Often Amiga 4000 motherboards sold as only the motherboard goes higher than full towers like the one you have posted a link to. Some prefer to only buy the motherboard it self, as buying a full tower includes having to pay big postage costs. If you had only the need of a motherboard and nothing else, would you buy a complete tower of 50 kgs just to get the motherboard? I would not. Then rather buy a bare motherboard for the same kind of money, and save on the shipping costs.
