Quarantine Sale on Indie Gala

So nothing like having a sale during a pandemic, I've not checked it out yet so not sure what kind of sale there is just yet.

I've not done much shopping on Indie Gala.

Here in the states there are many having to work from home now but others just plain got laid off.

So I'm hoping everybody out there is staying safe

Yeah I've also seen discount runs on TVs and the likes "so you don't have to leave the house". A bit in poor taste to be honest

Quarantine comes from the French word quarantaine I believe. Since 14 days seems to be enough to know for sure if you caught it or not, authorities have come up with the word quatorzaine, which is the same sanitizing measure but lasting 14 days instead of 40.

It is well known that is from Italian and comes from Venice.

Quote:
The word quarantine comes from a seventeenth-century Venetian variant of the Italian quaranta giorni, meaning "forty days", the period that all ships were required to be isolated before passengers and crew could go ashore during the Black Death plague epidemic.

Jmmijo, you already work from home, so not much changes for you...

First, the word quarantaine (a 40 days period of time) was used in France long before its current meaning. Also, according to some French web site, granted the word is Italian but the confinement measure itself is of Croatian origin, and took place for the first time in 1377 :
Quote:
C'est en 1377 que la république de Raguse impose, par une loi, un isolement de quarante jours aux navires qui viennent des villes pestiférées. La mesure est cruelle – on laisse mourir les malades dans les bateaux – mais elle se révèle efficace.

It was in 1377 that the Republic of Ragusa [aka Dubrova`cka Republika] imposed, by law, a 40-day isolation on ships coming from plague-stricken cities. The measure is cruel - the sick are left to die in boats - but it is proving effective.
Quattordicine for 14 days quarantine, then ? How about it ?

Indeed, I pretty much self-quarantine anyways

This thread actually makes me want to play the classic Dos game Quarantine.

[ Show youtube player ]

A typical game that has the difficulty curve upside-down; it starts at it's hardest and becomes progressively easier. Its apparently so lost that not even GoG got it's hands on it, its still in the abandonware circuit

Since it is abandoware - the eye has both first and second game.

Quarantine (1994)

Quarantine II - Road Warrior (1995)

Since we have lots of games in zone from that period, my guess is that link might stay, but if mods thinks otherwise, please just remove links.

And first one was good?

I remember watching intro @ the time on one of PC Gamer cover disks and thinking how ugly and bad that is... Main reason I never tried that game.
