Iron Lord

One game I desperately want to complete is Iron Lord. I've tried every version including whdload but the game always crashes after the battle between your uncle's army and your own. I could put the save state in the zone if someone wants to look at it to see if the problem lies with the game or WinUAE. I would really appreciate any help with this.

I suggest you try it strictly running it with "real" a500 config if a disk image is being used.

Both disks are protected with the same naughty system and just maybe someone was kind enough to hide a second check somewhere towards the end of the game... or it is simply really bad, but none of the testers were bothered to play it over again before duplication.

Both the English and German versions are out on ipf - and they contain the complete, tested protection tracks on all disks -, if they crash with a real a500 config, then I have bad news for you: the game never ever worked.

I was worried that you might say that. But I'm intrigued when you say both versions are out on ipf. I've never even heard of ipf before. More importantly where can you get hold of these versions?

for ipf:

for getting hold on them I can't really help, but someone else may be more helpful.

runamuck,

does it help if you enable the cycle-exact option in WinUAE?

I tried the cycle-exact option but it still didn't work unfortunately.

I think the only way I will get this to run is with a whdload version as maybe someone would have fixed the game. The whdload version I had was pre-installed. This one didn't really crash but asked me to insert disk 2 when you declared war on your uncle.

Actually sounds really like the game wanted to check the protection on #2.
Get the ipf images somehow - it will work 100% in this case - and/or file a detailed report to the author of the whdl install preferably with a saved game before this thing happens.

I sent a bug report to the author of the whdload install and he said he would look into it.
