http://hol.abime.net/5548 Does anybody of you know something more? From the pics it seems an interesting coversion! EDIT: Ok, I've red a little bit more on the HoL page, it has been stopped and the demo is downloadable. Last edited by ErikBauer; 01 August 2007 at 13:28. |

It's quite neat but never made it past the demo stage, this thread will answer most (if not all) of your questions.

No it doesnt, it looks total SHITE.
It's a slideshow made from screengrabs from another platform, with an attempt to turn into a Point-n-click adventure. Non of the characters are 3D (or 2D). The animation, even in action sequences is non existant. Man it is total and utter homebrew CRAP. |

I tend to agree with alexh... after watching the first minute or so of the YouTube video I had to turn it off. I felt I was wasting my life watching it

I "played" it a long time ago. It isn´t worth any minute playing time. It´s pure crap.

absolute pure p00p!
The Amiga (anything less than 060 and maybe even 060) will never be able to run this game properly! I don't even see the point of this thread! Let's stick to what the amiga is/was good at please! |

@bippym
an 030+ with enough ram should easly be able to do filled polys for the characters and the other entitys on the screen... after all there backdrops are all static. arguable an amiga CD version could be done where by it could use direct animation play or just use the engine and dump the background sound / narration to cd-audio out for zero processing... on the ps1 the shadows are static overlays with no processing other than to blat it onscreen A fast 040 or 060, maybe able to do some simple texturing / smoothing on top of those polys.. with a simple surface removal routine, you could improve a fair bit me thinks maybe able to squeeze - in a rudimentary light source.. personally i think a well written engine could be created to play a very close aproximation of resident evil on an AGA/040+ equiped amiga. arguably with a 2/4mb graphics card an 030@50mhz + should easly be able to do it. |

arguably you could have a full 320x240 / 640x480 CDXL animation, 16+fps on an 030+ an should be relatively passible lol. the original FMV wasnt an mpeg stream it was infact a sequential frame anim format and IIRC with very little compression...
