Fullscreen = Blank Screen

I am not sure what has caused this but fullscreen mode is now causing a black screen with no Amiga display. The display only appears when I press F12 and the GUI appears with the correct Amiga display in the background. Once the GUI is gone so is the Amiga display.

Any ideas?

The only thing that has changed is that I have updated to the latest Windows 10 Creator Upgrade. I am using the latest nVidia graphics drivers.

Attach both logs (as usual. Tick paths panel debugging checkbox before starting emulation to generate winuaelog.txt)

That is NVidia (or NVidia and Windows) bug which also happened in one insider build (but was fixed in next one so I am not sure what is happening in your case), scanline reporting that low latency vsync needs reports totally insane values.

EDIT: It seems latest NVidia driver broke it again.. I can duplicate same.

Damn. Thanks for investigating this, I just hope nVidia fix the bug eventually.

Strange that no-one else has reported similar issues.

I have had and reported similar problem some time ago (win10+nvidia), after that i'm using full-window setting as workaround and it's working fine.

Yes this appears to work the same initially, however I am using the 50Hz low-latency vsync mode and unfortunately this only works in proper full-screen mode. Seems the graphics driver NVidia released on the 24th of July broke full-screen mode.

Just thought I'd post a quick update on the status of this issue.

NVidia released a new graphics card driver today (v385.28) and that has finally fixed the issue.

I've been doing some further tests with fullscreen mode recently with Sensible Soccer and noticed the sound was breaking up a lot. The sound buffer LED was in the yellow all the time so I tried various ways to fix it and eventually found a solution.

The solution was to stop using the 'Low Latency VS 50/60Hz' and switch to the legacy version. This cleared up the sound perfectly.

Its probably been asked a thousand times but what is the difference between these two 'modes'? Why would legacy work better? I wonder if switching to the legacy vsync would have fixed the original problem.

Not for me.

By any chance are you using the beta version of WinUAE?

No I'm using standard v3.5

Have you tried switching vsync modes?

Most common reason is calibration not working. I suspect nvidia driver isn't really working..

Name says it all: 1 or 2 frames lower latency. (This different is very noticeable in games like Pinball Dreams)

Not working here either (385.28)

Code:
...
Very unstable vsync! 40560.279793 vs 40560.279793, retrying..
Very unstable vsync! 41861.679144 vs 41861.679144, retrying..
Very unstable vsync! 39736.720812 vs 39736.720812, retrying..
Out of range value 40771.531250, disabling low latency vsync..
Last line only appears in recent betas.
