Even though it's only PD, gotta add Ork Attack for the Amiga due to the bucket loads of blood when your knight is splattered all over the wall edge,& that annoying screen lobs up with the "You can never defeat my kind" sample comes up,very irritating!

Leisure Suit Larry 1: If you waited long enough without quitting or restoring, you'd see the game developers 'manifacture' a new body!
Brat! The kid would fall into a crater screaming, and then say "You blew it man!". |

Good old LSL. Yep, definitely some fun ways to die in a few of 'em.
Speaking of no1, there was a "debug" mode, where you could call up a sequence of what Larry did to himself if he'd gone the night without hooking up with the hooker upstairs above Lefty's. Still, gotta love the disaster's that could befall him on the Love Tub area in LSL2. Either being squashed by fat Momma, or being chained up & squashed. Being dissected/poured into acid if you'd encountered the Nontoonyt henchette, burned to a crisp by the sun, or dying whilst escaping the ship, great stuff! |

Gods: where Hercules explodes with an agonised shriek.
Must agree with Shadow of the Beast 2: that was great - but I thought the pink light coming from the sky was trying to resurrect him, not kill him??? Gold of the Aztecs: you see your rotting skeleton, a snake slithers through it, and an eyeball falls out of its socket, and splish-splashes onto the ground. Ninja Warriors: not really the actual death scene, but I love how parts of flesh could be blown off you, revealing cyborg components underneath. I used to intentionally get my head blown off, so I could walk around with a cool terminator-looking head!!! The Immortal: when the sand worm knocks you up into the air from beneath you, opens it's jaws, and waits for you to fall into its mouth. |

How could I forget...
the many death scenes in Waxworks: being beheaded, being sliced and diced, tangling with an alligator and, my personal favourite, your encounter with a zombie, which leaves you gutted, your intestines strewn everywhere, and your jaw completely torn off. Oh, and when you crashed into another plane in Wings....that was memorable too. |

Final fight , countdown death sequence is nice !, one of the Outrun games has a bloke behind bars mouthing let me out (but thats not death really) . And what about the Creatures? , I never really played the amiga version though. Cool Spot's death was an interesting animation & the many other platform games like it (aladdin etc..).
My fav is Infiltrator on the C64 though, all you can see is jimbos leg sticking out of the the wreckage pure class! |

Yep, C64 Creatures' Torture screen's definitely rate up there with funny, bloody endings!
I found Another World's introduction very deadly-hang around too long after almost drowning & you get pulled back into the murky depths by tentacles, risk being killed by the slug things next screen, or get mauled by the lion/panther beast! |

i liked the scene when the falcon kills the character extracting the eyes from the socket in Elvira mistress of the dark. also the fact that the angst and frenzy were boiling every time your time was running off when performing tricky action wich fault would mean death, and there was that little fraction of time when you did loose the interaction with the game and the death scenes beginned... creepy!

Ooh, no one's mentioned the Dune RPG yet. ie when you stray away on foot for too long or get shot down by the Harkonnens or any one of the ways you can die, there's the bit of Paul lying on the sand and he dries up into dust rapidly and the flesh falls off the bones. That part is delicious.

The death scenes in sierra adventure games were often hilarious. Especially in the Space Quest series. And I have always liked the game over scene from North and South, with the guy with the creepy laugh.

I always liked getting blasted by drug dealers in Police Quest. The blood and the movement of your lifeless body just seemed nice at the time.
