Freezing watchpoints not working

Hi guys, I tend to suck at some games, so I'm using WinUAE's watchpoint freeze feature now and then. Usually I search for the address in question with the C command in the debugger, then freeze the result using
Code:
w 0 <address> 1 frw <value>
which used to work just fine. I haven't gotten around to much gaming lately, but today I wanted to play Turrican 2 again and felt like freezing the number of waves (the ones you trigger with the space key). Turns out it doesn't work as intended anymore. Freezing the address ($786d if someone wants to try) will have the result that you can't fire any more waves at all. I tried a few older versions of winuae and the last working one seems to be 2.2.0. 2.3.0 and up (tried the latest beta too) don't work as intended (using A500 quickstart with the usual 0.5 MB chip and 0.5 slow mem).
Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm using the extended ADF of Turrican 2, but the IPF shows the same effect.

Thanks for the reply Toni. I totally forgot about changing the screen position in the prefs program in Workbench and yep that fixed it . Its strange as its always been ok but it only changed when I installed Winuae 2.3.1 It must be as you said the defaults changed with the latest version. Thanks for your help again.
