Need: Little Computer People (other ADF's)
I got 3 disks of Little Computer People...but I don't like theme so good.
In the TOSEC colection I have the fowling ADF's: "Little Computer People (1987)(Activison)" - one of the disks that the character checks the house. "Little Computer People (1987)(Activison)[a]" - contains a male guy with a light brown dog "Little Computer People (1987)(Activison)[a2]" - contains a guy with moustache with a dark brown dog. Is there other kind of ADF files of other characters. Please let me know it. Thank you. |

IIRC the first time you played the game it generated the character and saved him on the disk?
If that's really true, maybe it would be possible to use the SPS image to create new characters by swapping it with a cracked version at the right moment! Or maybe one of the cracked versions has a a way to 'reset' the game so a new character gets created? **edit** Okay, here's the story from SPS: http://www.softpres.org/?id=article:...omputer_people It is a much better idea to create an external Amiga tool to change it. This would mean it could be used in emulation and on a real machine. This is exactly how it worked for real, just the number was automatically generated. Of course, people can easily change the serial number themselves by editing the serial number file on the disk. If you kill your LCP, or they die from natural causes. You can of course rewrite the disk in the case of a real machine, or delete the UAE diff file. Of course resurrecting LCP’s that have gone to a higher plane of existence, is not exactly a nice thing to do (think Buffy) so you may want to attract a different one at the same time, perhaps use the attractor above to find an LCP who is linked to a family member, friend or pet. *lol* So - play using the SPS image and delete the diff file if you aren't happy with your Little Computer Person! Serial Number Editor
Greetings,
Here's a little something I've been working on. It's a Windows program with which you can load a Little Computer People ADF image, edit the serial number and save it back to the ADF. A beta version is available here:This program is provided "as is", with absolutely no warranty expressed or implied. Use at your own risk. Last edited by eLowar; 30 October 2007 at 07:42. Reason: Updated URL with a version that already includes all required DLLs and removed the previous download info. |

So, I wanted to find the different characters.. I started off by making a serial and then I wrote down the color of his hair/cap, pants, shirt and dog..
After 35 serials I could see that the first digit is used to select the character: 0xxxxxxx LCP middle aged 1xxxxxxx LCP Mr. Cool 2xxxxxxx LCP old 3xxxxxxx LCP young 4xxxxxxx LCP baseball cap 5xxxxxxx LCP middle aged 6xxxxxxx LCP Mr. Cool 7xxxxxxx LCP old 8xxxxxxx LCP young 9xxxxxxx LCP baseball cap The colour of the dog seemed to be influenced as well.. So i made some more serials to verify It showed that: Values 0-2 have a brown dog Values 3-5 have a light brown values 6-9 have grey dog I made other 25 different serials to see if the colour of the hair could be selected.. I found that second digit selects hair colour 0 brown 1 yellow 2 light brown 3 brown 4 red 5 brown Since the value 6 produced different results I decided not to waste more time on this and go to bed.. Hope someone finds this useful (I just made 70 adfs and loaded the game more that 200 times the past couple of hours) sigh |

I was thinking about just writing a batch generator, creating ADFs for all possible serial numbers and submitting them to TOSEC.

Uploaded it to the zone. I'm not sure if the QT library is the needed one.
