Big grin Gaming drive's performance

Double Intel Optane 32GB drivers marged into one, utilized as L-2 cache for a 6TB HDD, managed by PrimoCache, sure make a difference.

Just yesterday had to remove 16GB optane from HP laptop after drive decided it does not want to work with it anymore. Pavilion laptop was manufactured at the end of 2019 and just out of 1 year mfg warranty.

Well that sucks, Notebooks need to have extra speed mainly due to the slower CPU clocks and such.

Yes, but I'm not using Intels Management software nor "Intel RST Premium With Intel Optane System Acceleration (RAID)"settings in BIOS in this case, so a good question jmmijo, makes me wonder if the M.2 disks are still recognized in other cases and still can be utilized...

EDIT: Not sure but Linus says he ran it even on AMD [ Show youtube player ]

Get a 32GB stick on the used market, they're cheaper than ever right now since Intel doesn't manufacture them anymore. Got my second one for 99 PLN's and it had only a few TB's written.

Nah, just replaced his HD with SSD and laptop works as fast if not faster when it had optane.

I would really be worried about data loss with setup like that. (unless you use this just for gaming, in which case - who cares?! )

Might as well go with a Slingshot interconnect for your next upgrade

https://www.nextplatform.com/2019/08...ith-slingshot/

12.8Tb bandwidth/sec or is that sex?

Damn.

I don't have an Enterprise that large in my gaming room yet, I'll stick to 11Gbps for now...
