Trouble with AllocSignal

Hi all!

I'm using AllocSignal to alloc 6 signals, which works fine on my A1200/060 with AmigaOS v3.1 but fails on my A600/Vampire with v3.9: one of signal failed to be allocated, preventing AmiModRadio to start

I'm using the "by-the-book" code to allocate a signal, which return -1 for one of my signal, usually the third one: I can allocate two signal but not three:

signal = AllocSignal(-1L)
So I wonder: am I doing something wrong allocating these signals? What could cause signals not to be allocated?

PS. I know that there is a difference between the signal and the signal mask used in other signal-related functions

Thanks in advance!

All signals already taken. Do you properly FreeSignal each signal you allocate?

There are at most 32 per task and something like 8 are already occupied by the system. If you don't FreeSignal and run your program several times from the same shell window you will quickly run out of signals.

Hi Thomas!

Thanks a lot for your help You pointed me to FreeSignal... to which I was passing signal masks and not signal

So, it's fixed now and it showed that I didn't know my signal functions so well...
