R-Type is the best out of every version of R-type!!

R-Type 2 is nothing special. Just a re-run of R-Type but not as good

R-Type Delta is surprisingly good tho!

As for the Amiga - R-Type was a great conversion. I'm sure it was the best until the PC Engine one came along. I really enjoyed it

How does Rtype work with a 1 button joystick?

I'm aware it worked with 2 button pads and I just realised that's how I always played it. How did you release your droid with one button?

R-Type, by far.
I was extremely disappointed by the greyish graphics of the second one, while the first one was so colourful.

They recaptured that magic in the third one on the SNES again, imo.

The graphical team is different, on the style i would say this is the same team that later on provided in the Deep and split to make Metal Slug;

however i think the idea of R-Type 2 is more like a defensive approach compared to the first: in the 2 Bydo invaded earth and we are fighting for survival, monotone and darker tones give more that dread feeling and on Amiga Martin Walker soundtrack is perfectly gloomy even more than in the arcade!
