There's a lot of stuff coming in the "Next" update which is what people most whined about, like player+player online exploration.

I'm really happy with NMS as it is but this update just adds a lot more.

You’ll be able to explore the universe with a small group of friends, or bump into random travelers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive. Tiny shelters or complex colonies that you build as a team are shared for all players. Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies. Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks and trails to share online.
Pretty exciting to me

I really REALLY want to make tracks to race on exocrafts! Space combat seems not as exciting as I find the system pretty annoying to control, I find myself avoiding combat all the time I can.

NEXT Update

So I started playing the game again after the recent NEXT update.

Found some wonderful mods located at Nomansskymods.com

One in particular it great, 100x item/resource stacking.

Increases the stacking size for your backpack, your cargo backpack if you have it upgraded along with your exovehicle, starship and freighter if you purchased one

So I'm playing this after my dailies are finished in ESO and so I put my umteeth million play through of Skyrim on hiatus for the time being.

Going to see if I can totally own one of the planets I discovered, see what else I can do before trekking to the CENTER.

I'm one of those that didn't buy it on release because of all the bad publicity it quite rightly got.

After the Next update, it got some quite positive reviews, it was £19.99 on Steam so I bought it.

I've played about 40-50 hours so far, so only just getting into it. I can't say it's that exciting to play and it's very repetitive, but then again, I'm not that bothered about it as I'm only interested in playing something to while away the time atm, else I would be playing Fortnite or Pubg or something.

I played a lot of Subnautica prior to NMS, which is by far a much better game, beautiful graphics and sfx and gameplay, but unfortunately only has a finite storyline.

Who knows, maybe NMS gets patched and updated to become a better game all round. We live in hope...

So this is 13.99 on Indie Gala for a short time, so I brought it. Lets see how this goes.

Yeah, it's 50% off on Steam but that makes it $30 (USD) which is what I paid for it back when.

Paid £13.99 for NMS just now. Was not logged into indiegala when I saw the offer. I wonder if it is for new accounts only?

It says there's 33 keys left and 2 more hours left for me still at that price.

Sorry for missunderstanding. It was $20.69. Indigala always had different prices for different regions, and it was very close to exchange rate. 233 keys left and about 2 and half hours left.

I recently re-purchased this for PS4 at a discount as my local EB Games was closing down

Main reason I wanted to try NMS again was because it now has PSVR support while Elite Dangerous still does not (and trust me, there is no reason why...the graphics on ED are nothing special)

While messing about in NMS in VR is cool...it's not what I'd hoped. It's still the same boring grind. On one hand, technical and complicated to do the simplest of tasks like...oh i dont know....get enough fuel to take off. And on the other hand, it feels like Duplo Lego. Like a babies toy.

But meh, for a nearly infinite escape in these days of "dont go outside"...it does a job.

It's a lot more fun in multiplayer
