Sega is more OK with ports than any other company.
I have already exported most sprites with all the frames for wonderboy. This will be the next project I work on with Mc geezer. I have also exported most level graphics, and converted them in a Amiga compatible tile format. |

I think since Rolling Thunder is almost eponymous with "shitty Amiga port", it would be the conversion that is needed most and the Amiga finally getting a good conversion would have an epic feel to it already and would be ground for a lots of discussion and Amiga media coverage...
It always comes up in discussions about the Amigas capabilities and Tiertex bad ports. But i would also love to see what McGeezer comes up with regarding his own game... |

I may be wrong but I think that mcgeezer might be interested in doing something slightly easier after this! Seriously, this much work hasn't been put into any Amiga arcade conversion, ever. It's an absolutely incredible display of skill, talent, and patience.

It's not that coding the game is particularly hard but more that the time required and the mental stamina required to achieve it is demanding. One thing I know is that if I did my own game then it has to be completely designed up front and then coded, coding as you go will just result in it not getting anything finished...I've seen it happen time and time again. |

I did often wonder if Salamander or Nemesis was doable on the amiga.
that said, looks like the arcade board wasn't capable of salamander either, so who knows. |

I could really flood this thread with cool Arcade games that should be possible on the Amiga.
...but for now I'll just add a few that come to mind (besides what's already been mentioned): |

I would love to pass Blood Bros as well on A1200. But it's a bigger game than Rygar or Rolling Thunder. And i won't start anything on the arcade code or the graphic assets if Mc Geezer is not interested to do it. That's too much work to do if nothing gets done afterward.

Imho, the best I can hope is that someone do the ports of the games genres that Amiga lacked.
Wanderboy - you have like millions similar platformers Rolling thunder - You have great Shinobi, and Shadow Dancer. What we don't have, is some great beat 'em ups (except from very average Golden Axe). Cadillacs, Captain Commando, (proper) Final Fight, Punisher... that would be awesome to see. |

Shinobi on the Amiga is awful. Should be easy enough to do a proper port, looking at mcgeezers skills.
I would love to see more shmups fromt the 1987/88 era, like Twin Cobra or Flying Shark (a better port). And of course Rastan. |

Shinobi would be easy enough on the 1200, possibly doable on the 500 with a couple of compromises.

Is Shinobi on Amiga really that bad compared to the arcade?
Unless my eyes are playing tricks, the arcade doesnt look much different |

It really bad. 10-15fps, ugly sound and controls to torture any arcade fan.

Shinobi is a joke, probably better on ZX Spectrum (and the arcade version is excellent even after all those years), but Dragonninja is the most infuriating: graphics are good/faithful to the arcade, but gameplay is so jerky it's unplayable. Needless to say, without a second button, it's awful.

Yep, Dragon Ninja is a disaster on Amiga.
Unplayable awkward controls (especially jumping!) ruins everything. |
