AFAIK both sides had Jet Fighters near the end of WW2.

Oh yeah, my favourite intro is the Birds Of Prey one aswell, even more so because of the hella cool cracktro music of the Razor1911 crack

Yes, Akira, Messerschmidts, Heinschels, Avros..all these German aircraft companies had jets in the Luftwaffe by early 1945.
Birds of Prey is stunning, Ian. Although I am not as into modern jets as classic piston driven ones, the game is very well organized and put together.

Blood Money Intro was the one thing that made me sell my ST and buy an Amiga.

Not the best intro, the music made it, but good for the time.

The best goes to Liberation.

Although not too much happened in the Pinball Illusion intro I still liked it's coordination with the music.

I kinda like the rendered stuff such as rise of the robots(aga) and Microcosm, but another world, and cruise of a corpse are as good as well.

Btw: i also like the intro on cd32's bubba'n'stix

I've remembered another impressive intro - Beachvolley. The music and the graphics went really well together.

That was a classy game release for its time.

Thumbs up Operation Thunderbolt!

I love the Op Thunderbolt intro! Great haunting tune, really clean fading in of text and pictures, the animation of the guys firing the guns etc, superb stuff! Especially for 1989...

Psygnosis and Core intros were good but often just rendered animations (not always I know!). The Op Thunderbolt one has a certain elegance I reckon!

Oldy thread, but goldy.

For me it's really really hard to pick one, so here's my favorites, and why:

- Another World
This one is special, and so ahead of it's time, because creator took editing seriously, and cut the shots like professional director. Apart from that, graphics and animations are top notch. Very ambient and atmospheric sounds and feel.

- The Settlers
A little bit too slow paced for today standards, but compensated with amazing graphics, and sound. I guess, animation could use some variation, but all in all amazing intro

- Birds of pray
I wached this pretty late (I think Starcraft was already out), but I can imagine jaw drop on people when saw this, when it came out. Fast paced dogfight, with digit voices... pretty ahead of it"s time.

- Frontier
Another greatly directed piece. I like the changing music, when enemy ships approach. I like the ending twist also (I guess twist in intros are very rare back then). The special thing about it, is that is driven by engine, so it takes insanelly little space, and even today is used for benchmarks.

- Liberation 2
The sheer length of the intro is amazing alone (was it like 5 minutes?), and impressive how they put so much stuff. Graphics and animations are also great.

Honorable mentions:
Arabian Nights, K240, Eye of Beholder, Flashback, and many many more

I'm going to go with Wrath of the Demon. I don't like the game itself, but the intro... scared the bejesus out of me as a kid. No other Amiga game intro has had that kind of impact on me. Love the music on the title screen / story crawl too.

Second place goes to Another World. I have a thing for moody and gloomy intros.

Third place... I'm going to have to go with Syndicate. The first time I saw that, it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.
