Replica cartoon BOX :O when I get something, boxes are first to go bin. I'm NOT a box collector.

I really can't understand why keep boxes?

With a box. The Amiga sells for more. Have you not seen the CD32 box go for nearly £80! Lol

Everyone has different interests in different things. There are a large number of people who would throw the Amiga in the bin - after all, it's just an obsolete bit of electronics, long since surpassed in capability. If you can understand why people keep Amigas, you can understand why they keep boxes.

Although sometimes they cost a little even without box

Link

Edit: 70 euro for a replica cardboard box really is astonishing.

Yeah, when I clean out a house and I come across all kinds of Atari and commodore stuff I throw away all the commodore stuff. I am NOT an old inferior electronics collector.

All my Amigas are in use, so keeping them boxed would be diffiult. Box collector doesn't use or play their machines. They are collectors, not a hobbyists.

No, you really can't. I often buy old amiga games BECAUSE of the boxes and I do not care if disks are working. Everyone has different interests.

Please share your finds on here. I am sure someone would happily pay for them... And if it was just for shipping I would!

Newly manufactured ‘look a like’ boxes don’t make your Amiga any more valuable. Original boxes do.

But people are just asking for those boxes, for their own use. There was a project here on EAB for production of those replicas.

I'm the same. I buy C64 cassette games and it doesn't matter to me whether they work or not as I play the games from an SD card. I just like to own the physical games.

As someone else said - everyone has different interests.

I can play pretty much any Amiga game ever released, whenever I want.

What I can't do these days is wander by rows and rows of big boxes with cheesy art, inhale that papery floppy smell and try to figure out if its a good game by squinting at the tiny screen shot on the back. That's why I love going to retro gatherings, for an hour or so I feel like a kid in a candy store.

Not that I'd ever want go back to waiting 6 months for a game to get to my local store and pay $60, just to find out that it was another cover disk inflated review score.

I just don't have the space for a lot of boxes in my hobby room, otherwise I could totally relate to that!
