I was watching the stream last night and I noticed there were a couple of Amiga demos with 16:9 aspect ratio.

How does that work? Is the picture cut from the top and bottom, or is the screen stretched horizontally when viewing?

When seen on the CPC's CRT these colours are incredibly crisp and vibrant.

No shat, Sherlock.

Speccy is on the garish side, along with the BBC Micro.

C64 is too muddy, purplish or brown.

CPC, with the way its 27 colours are organised, is the most well-rounded of the RGB 8-bit systems.

A8, of course, is the best all-rounder

However, the CPC has only ONE shade of grey in the whole palette. Um...!

Revision was great as usual. Amiga intro compo was rather disappointing, the demo compo made all up for that though.

That should be possible. For now I'll use the "post party motivation" to create some new OCS effects though before it fades it away. So it may take a while.

As announced f.e. here and elsewhere, it's the black borders: 320*180 (for low-res) using specific screen specs.

And regarding the topic: what an awesome demo show that was!

Sure was. Also: thanks for delivering, yet again, an interesting and unusual OCS demo!

@Stingray:

It was amazing to watch your superfast asm coding (was standing there behind you together with Premium and N0se and was usually coding for my game at the same table, but on the other side, though)..

Nice stuff...

Well, we are getting older day by day so we need to do things as fast as possible. Seriously though, would have loved to talk to you, next time just say hi, first beer's on me!

Edit: I'm usually very easy to find at Revision as I'm almost always located next to Frequent/Ephidrena.

I found "The Fall" to be lovely (I thought the clock image was AGA from the screenshot!) and the other two demos mentioned in the link were great.

I quite liked Invertebrates, too.

Yup, invertebrates was nice too! "The Fall" though was simply astonishing and then the 3D scene towards the end arrived and it became even more so!

We are going to produce a final fixed (ie works on Accelerated amigas, and some glitches fixed) version. I believe that Leonard's "demo system" will also be able to make an HD loadable version, although I am not 100% sure of this. I just got that impression when we were discussing it in our group.
