Great and it's incredibly "clean" and organized inside!

The show must go on.

I played with the idea putting a mas inside a miggy if I could only find one :-) Why did you use the full 25 pin's you only need eight + 12v.

Yeah I know that I only needed the eight pins plus +5V (instead of +12V).
- Fact is that I couldn't get them directly under the mobo cause then I wouldn't be able to bring them nicely from the front side. - Secondly, 8 instead of 25 wires would make the ribbon from the IDC connector really thin, which I wouldn't like cause as it is now, it looks and feels pretty solid (especially when you want to disconnect it to put other hardware). - Last but not least, even with 25wires, stripping the wires, making it round, and putting it firmly with hotglue on the case was really clean and didn't create any issue. There are many ways of doing something. This was the way I imagined and I wouldn't change it even if I started if from scratch today Before putting the MAS-Player inside, I was thinking of putting my spare Delfina but sadly there is NO way I can make it fit somewhere unless I remove the floppy. Space exist where I put the MAS but then sadly the clockport cable would have to be TOO big for the Delfina so again it's a NO NO. A600 is just fine with a MAS and Paula I think Last edited by mfilos; 05 February 2012 at 15:46. |

Looking great mfilos!
I have one worry about your project though: you are adding all this stuff and attaching a lot of things to the case, making it annoying/inconvenient to remove the motherbaord etc... but I see you still have the old surface mount capacitors in this motherboard. Shouldn't you replace the caps before continuing the modifications? keep up the great work! |

Thanks Akira mate and thanks for the good words
Caps are working great and since I use the Amiga at least once per week, I hope I won't have issues anytime soon. Having the Amiga unused for long time is bad for cap's health. Even if I ever need to replace them.... it will be kinda annoying to dismantle the whole mobo, but I have done it so many times that I don't care much After all I try and keep tidy everything without endless cabling and mess. Btw I made one more update today Mounting NMI and USB Connector Enjoy |

mfilos this is such an inspiring mod!
question: for the MAS Player is it not possible to have even the cables inside and the port switchable by some... switch? :-) maybe it's a bit overboard, but then again what is overboard in this project... EDIT: Also wondering if it's possible to have more than one parallel port on an Amiga? |

Haha I love the way you think wXR mate
Tbh, there are limitations concerning space in doing such a mod... Firstly you'd need to desolder the parallel port in order to get the lines (with wires) feeding them to a dual Parallel switch. Then you'd need to use an IDC parallel connector glued to the original place. It's not so difficult to make tbh, but the whole ribbon cables plus the REALLY big rotary switch which normally is being used in such switches, is primary ugly... but most important... there is NO such space for mounting it. If there was a way of putting an extra parallel interface inside using a clockport adapter that would have been really cool! (like extra serial ports can exist internaly via SilverSurfer). Apart from that, everyone can use a switch externally for Printer/Sampler devices if any |

Made a new thread on my blog today concerning my A600
Didn't have much time recently preparing my baby's room but made some more tests and changed in my beloved miggy. You can check the article here: http://mfilos.blogspot.com/2012/03/r...new-video.html |

Incredibly fast. But I didn't understand what's that hack with the Wifi. Is it that you coudn't connect with it before or that it now goes faster or what?

All the PCMCIA Wi-Fi adapters compatible with the Prism chipset were able to only authenticate using WEP keys on our Amigas.
By upgrading their firmware/station via a laptop using Windows/Linux and by using the newest Prism drivers found on Aminet, you can now authenticate using WPA/WPA2 as well!!! |

That is awesome, my A600 is demanding to speak with its brethren but cabling is a pain. Is this tricky to do, I have an old laptop with pcmcia slot.
What about suitable cards. Will this do it - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SENAO-PCMC...item3a71104c0c can you point us at more detailed info on this please. BTW, I just tried the 800x600 indiECS screenmode by following your blog. It is brilliant, so much faster than highGFX 1024x768 and on my screen anyway, a more readable display. ALL indiECS users must hear about this. |

jimbob mate that card seems to be compatible as Prism 2.5 is compatible.
At it's price I'd say it a nice way to experiment I got my MA401 for 5 pounds from eBay just because the guide I followed concerned that card so I wanted to be sure In my article there is the link that Hiddenevil from a.org posted on his blog. Check it out cause the guide is really straightforward. If you need any help in the meantime don't hesitate to ask. SuperPlus driver is just brilliant. HighGFX on ECS chipset kinda sux as it's uber slow on anything more than 4 colors and even at 4, it's not ultra enjoyable. 800x600 is a bit slower than 640x512 PAL Hi-Res Laced but it's really responsive as you can also see from my video and the extra pixels are really nice to have for cases like AWeb, AmIRC, DOpus etc. |

Woohoo, posting from my A600 which is online for the first time ever. The card I linked to above seems to work perfectly and already comes with WPA capable firmware. It is a Senao nl-2511cd. Thanks for pointing the way to more good stuff Mfilos!
For some reason I am reminded of this - "'But what do you do? You just there?' Case shrugged, put the vodka down on the cabinet and lit a Yeheyuan. 'I talk to my own kind' 'But you're the whole thing. Talk to yourself?' 'There's others. I found one already. Series of transmissions recorded over a period of eight years, in the nineteen seventies. 'Til there was me, natch, there was nobody to know, nobody to answer.'" Right, off to a slightly newer browser to see if that garbage is formatted properly. |
