Arrow Print to raw file

Dear Toni,

since the Windows functionality "print to file" (using the "FILE:" port) doesn't work with WinUAE (the filename input box never appears in Windows), I'm asking for an option in WinUAE to save the raw printing data to a specified file.

Thank you!

Regards,

Michael

Just use the CMD program (in the Sys:Tools directory).

Thanks, but this is only available when booting to WB, isn't it?

What exactly are you trying to do?

EDIT: Do you want anything Amiga sends to parallel port copied to host side file?

@Toni: Yeah. My intention for this request was that using print emulation in WinUAE is impossible for people who have no printer connected to the host but still want/need to print out ASCII based text from the Amiga. Of course this is maybe of no use for anything else but ASCII - but who knows? I remember SimCity CD32 had an option to print out the city map - I didn't try if this works with a PDF printer in the host but I'll let you know.

ASCII-Only printer type should do that but for some reason at least "Microsoft Print to PDF" return ERROR_INVALID_DATATYPE when print data type is set to "TEXT".

Maybe some other "Print to <something>" driver works better.

(This surely worked many, many years ago. Probably some Windows update that broke it)
