I still suspect this causes the conflict. Try temporarily without it to confirm it. Helps to narrow down possible solutions.

https://gofile.io/?c=vqrdmr here is it without AUDIO part from CD0

P.S.:
just noticed double-clicking audio-cd icon without AUDIO just start/pause the first audioCD track, so some audio checks are probably still running in bg

EDIT:
For completeness this was the AREXX script launched from the AUDIO=S:BatchFiles/StartCDAudioProgRX batch file:
Code:
/* Starts the program for AudioCD */

if ~show('P','hdw port 0001') then address command 'WBrun SYS:Utilities/PlayCD'
 else
    do while ~show('P','hdw port 0001')
    call delay(50)
end
Now I removed all AREXX stuff to avoid potential conflict checks on SCSI cmd queue, and just kept the AUDIO option with a simple batch file:
Code:
stack 16384
SYS:Utilities/PlayCD
EndCli

Currently testing latest winuae.zip compiled on 2019/09/22 09:40:43, and I can't reproduce the issue… Did you change something or the changing in my AUDIO script removing AREXX code was enough??

There is nothing SCSI/CD/SPTI related in latest update.

One possible "solution": When drive is locked, emulation returns some error if CD audio command is attempted?. It is a hack but at least in theory it should work without side-effects.

...mmh, then it must be just a matter of timing: whether I wait a bit after MakeCD completes burning and unlocks the drive and before I quit the program and press Play/Eject on PlayCD, or not.

Mmmh it could work but I would add it as a Miscellaneous option since it's a hack indeed and could throw unpredictable side-effects in some circumstances (?). It's also possible is just some bug in MakeCD at this point...

It won't ever be GUI option. This use case is too niche (you probably are the only one )

Anyway, hack added. I am not sure yet if it is permanent or not or if there is some config file option..

Cfg file "hidden option" would be preferable IMHO and giving an option would be better anyway.

Strange things still happening with MakeCD:
1. after burning a mixed mode CD with audio track in position #2, and launching PlayCD, sometimes Play button from PlayCD does nothing (even with pre-hack version), but Eject button does work (running PlayCD too fast right after CD has been burnt? Why this?)
2. often MakeCD Test Mode seems For Real (i.e. both Win and AmigaOS pretend there is a real track written). Updating and re-reading drive contents still gives fake contents. After I use MakeCD's Eject disc and reinsert it it's finally seen empty as it actually is… (MakeCD bug? Emulation issue? Normal behaviour you have to eject CD to 'refresh' status?)

Would be possible to compile a version with small delay after every SCSI command? In general looks like the cmd queue gets screwed sometimes, leaving drive in an inconsistent status...

I tried to replicate same actions with Windows 10 and ImgBurn and it always expelled CD, even after Test Mode burning (no options set to do force this) so maybe there's a reason why… And indeed under AmigaOS ejecting CD after, always fixes status inconsistencies…
In short I'm persuaded to think the observed issues might be just "bugs" with (old) MakeCD not ejecting CD when required after all.
