Problem with Birdie

I've been meaning to try Birdie for a while but never got round to it.
Anyway, I've now tried it, but I seem to get only the text part of the title bar filled with the chosen pattern (see the attached pic).
It fills fine when Visual Prefs is disabled, but I really wanted both Vprefs & Birdie active to get the desired effect.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Not sure but I think you needed to configure something from VisualPrefs.. Maybe even an env variable

Visual prefs is version 41.46
Birdie is version 1.5

I am using FBlit & FText

Can't find any env variable in the GUI preferences

Update: removed it, more hassle than it's worth!
