ST/Amiga Format coverdisks

Does anyone have originals of these coverdisks - be nice to get scans of them into AMR.

I'm sure the SPS guys would like dumps of these too

I believe I've got some of these from Amiga Format.

Trouble is I don't think I'll be able to look for them for a couple of weeks - going to sunny Penzance on Friday for a week

I could look for them and scan them in after that - if nobody else beats me to it

davideo: Galaxy means from the magazine called "ST/Amiga Format", not "Amiga Format" - we have almost all of those.

@Codetapper

That's the one I was thinking of but couldn't remember which way round it was. Amiga Format started life as ST/Amiga Format and I'm sure I've got some of those discs.......

I have all the ST/Amiga format issues and all the disks (somewhere) and all the subscriber disks (again somewhere in that pit I call my house).

They are not that exciting (as this picture from Ebay shows)

Cool, well if they turn up we'd love scans (even if they aren't all that exciting).

Much as I'd love to get them I think I've overspent my Amiga budget for a few months... And I'm sure postage to Australia would be fairly hefty. It's good to know that they aren't too rare though.

I'll msg the vendor and see if I cannot badger them into putting scans in their adverts

Anyone know if issues 10 & 11 are copyprotected and that is the reason they have never been dumped?

I have no idea where the disks are in my house, and realistically I am never going to go through the boxes looking for them.

So I did a deal with the vendor and bought all they had for AMR and when they arrive I'll image off the missing disks 10 & 11 and scan them in (if I can remember how to use the scanner).

They didn't have disks 2, 7 & 9

@alexh - that is very kind of you. I'm not sure where the coverdisk images came from, but they are dual format disks so making complete accurate images is only possible via SPS.

The ST versions of all 13 disks have already been archived in .ST format. (I've looked they are all single sided)

There is no way I am going to be arsed to image 13 disks with the SPS software.

I'll do the two missing disks if you like, but I am pretty sure they will image in ADF just with lots of bad tracks on one side of the disk.

If they have a UK member who would be up for it, and I would get them back (eventually) I could do that.

If they don't have anyone to do it I would consider dumping them on my A1200? I've dumped for SPS before with no problems.

I'm sure I can make some time for it.

I've uploaded a JPG of the coverdisks into the Zone.

The highest res our photocopier at work (which is also a networked scanner) was 400dpi.

There was no option to set JPEG quality so it's not amazing but should be enough.

If you want me to try to improve the scan you MUST say so TODAY.

I'll try and dump the missing disks in ADF later this week.

BTW the scanner / photocopier here at work is very nice, perfect for oversized magazines as it has an A2 scan area! (That's 4 x A4)

Disclaimer: As always I provide these scans on a non exclusive basis. They are not specifically for AMR, they are for the entire Amiga community. Don't get upset if you see them turn up on a competing website. (Although AMR is the dogs bollox, all competition pales into insignificance)

Thanks for the scans - they are of good enough quality for us. If you want to rescan them do them with the lid up (so they appear on a black background, and space the disks out a bit, so that when they are cropped you don't get artefacts from the surrounding disks), but the scan you provided is fine.

They have been uploaded to AMR. Only missing 4 disks now (2, 7-9) in anyone comes across these...

Second attempt is in the Zone.

Lid is up, disks are now spaced apart.

BTW: Disk 8 was in the first scan and it's here too

Disk 8 was uploaded, just incorrectly named. Thanks for the rescan - the new diskscans look much better.
