Nintendo Wii: white, with Wii Sports, Wii Sports resort, some retro games in the Wii channels, rechargeable batteries, component cables, Nintendo classic controller, two Wiimotes and 2 Wii motion plus add ons, and 2 nunchuck: $165 Aus. Previous owner's installed system 4.3e, which I've discovered is the newest and harder to hack for home brew. Oh well

So far its been a blast playing Wii sports resort.

Ordered Mario kart and Mario Galaxy, will probably get Resident Evil 4, Goldeneye and Mario Bros, from here http://www.ozgameshop.com/ .

Cool. I want to see how you get on with it. I got an Apollo 4040 on here a few years ago and it is sitting in it's box waiting to be used. (Unfortunately has Mach130 chips so it is unclear if this can be upgraded to 4060)

Can they not use ModMii?

EDIT: Yeah, use ModMii. The most simple thing I've ever done. It's free and you don't need any games.

Seems to be hard to find a step by step guide to do that, lots 20 page forum posts which are hard to follow.

Yeah I'm looking forward to it too! Will be going in the A4000 Tower (Elbox Tower) along with a Mediator/Voodoo. Will update my project post

I'm hoping to give the card a Stachu style make over with latest mask 060 and socketed X-Tal.

But will get it working first

Got my hands on a crapload of disks some while ago. About 800 3.5s and 2000 5.25 disks..I'm going through all of them to see what works and what can be discarded..quite a job but I'm delighted most of the games and utilities on them are working ok and the disks are in pretty good shape

Great news, I had a big box of Disks recently and 100% were working, as long as they were dry stored they seem to be ok

Theres conflicting info on the forums I've been to about whether you still need a game for 4.3e.

From what i can see modmii generates a custom install depending on the answers I give when modmii is run in Windows. From this install, it downloads the needed files, which I then copy to an sd card. I then assume you put the sd card into the wii's sd slot, and (somehow) execute the files that modmii created. Now some people are saying at this point they need to have one of the games to complete the modding?

Did you read the custom tutorial that ModMii creates for you?

EDIT: alexh is right, you will need one of those games. My apologies.

To make up for it I have Super Smash Brothers Brawl if you want to borrow it? I'll send it to you as long as you send it back to me.

I like the Berzerk one. Wasn't it made an Amiga conversion for that game?

Thanks for the offer dude, but I'll see if I can rent one of the games from the local video shop.

I really only want to emulate older systems on the Wii, and not play "back-ups". There's only a few exclusive games (5-6 games) I want anyway. I have a huge Gamecube collection which still gets played.

Funny thing is my brother gave my son a PS3 he got with his Sony LCD for Xmas, and it hardly gets used. i think we miss the lack of split screen multi-player these days, and I don't like the drive for realism which demands very precise controls, all of which makes gameplay tedious.

If the PS3 isn't being used then why not update it with a custom firmware? (assuming it's on OFW 3.55 or below) There are already some great emulators for that and all you need to do is stick a custom firmware on a USB and away you go.

Fail in that, grab yourself an original xbox 1, you will not be disappointed if all you want is a machine that has great emulation for anything up to PSX including arcade games.

Anyhow this is going right of topic, maybe start a separate thread.
