[Found: Beneath A Steel Sky] Looking for a game name?
Hello!
I'm looking for a specific DOS game, I played it on Windows 98. It was a sidescrolling game. I think it was a Sci-fi game, the reason is because I remember seeing robots. You are a caucasian man, with black hair. The first level: You start out on a footwalk, high above a room. I remember having to walk across the footwalk (On the left was a flight of stairs, and I always remember going down the stairs before going through the door and some weird music would come on and it would say I had failed the mission, or something) and through a door. Through the door was a balcony and if I remember correctly, it was raining. You then had to stand behind the door on the balcony, and another man would then appear.. and then he would go back inside again. (So maybe this is a stealth game where you are not to be seen by people, otherwise you fail.) I then remember having to go back through the door, and back onto the footwalk. I then remember a staircase which you walked down, and then you would be greeted by a robot that would lead you to the next level. Ok that is all I remember from the game. Also, the graphics of the game were quite good for a DOS game, a bit like Crusader and Abuse put together. |

You do realise that this is an Amiga forum Thorn?
Anyway, the game you describe sounds very similar to the start of "Beneath A Steel Sky" which was released on the Amiga and PC... Here's the Amiga version screenshots: http://hol.abime.net/90/screenshot |

Nice plug Damien
I think this thread should be off-topic'd... and what's with the increase in PC games being posted here recently (well, that's two )...? EDIT: Or maybe not seeing as it is a Miggy game as well |

...makes you sad that there are people that WERE in computing AND in gaming back those days and still... haven't even (and ever) experienced what Amiga was for Computing and Gaming...
sad its like being born early 70ies and not having played Atari 2600 during your first years or those people that first saw a mouse when Windows 3.1 came out (not talking about people that got involved with computers when Windows 3.1 came out) |

Quite a funny story actually.
I was browsing on Google and I typed in 'Looking for a game name?' and funnily enough, this website showed up. The reason that I don't know what an Amiga is, is because I'm 15. I played 'Beneath A Steel Sky' when I was about 4 or 5. My father died when I was 7, that's when I stopped playing computer games. I decided to just see if I could find this game, just to help me remember my dad. Sorry if I offended anyone. Last edited by Thorn; 20 February 2008 at 03:31. |
