[Found: Midnight Resistance] help with 3rd person scrolling shooter ID.

Genre: shoot 'em up
Specific genre: Contra clone
Viewpoint: 3rd person
General dates: 1985 - 1990
Commercial status: boxed

Other info: The game was sci based and allowed for 2 players to play simultaneously in co-op. It was a 3rd person shoot 'em up similar to Contra. Also, you could buy weapon upgrades (at the beginning or end of each level IIRC). I remember a screen where there were 3 (?) giant capsules. If memory serves me right, this "capsule" screen was the screen where the player(s) could buy weapon upgrades.

Also, one of the bosses (again if memory serves me right) was a giant tank.

All of this info is from fading memory. I was a child of the 80s. The Amiga was our first console.

Hope someone has heard of this game. This along with Hybris were my faves!

Hmm. I'm having trouble getting this one to run using WinUAE. Can WinUAE play it?

Yes, WinUAE can play it. Which version do you use? There is a Quickstart mode, you can choose the Amiga 500 model.

WinUAE 1.3. I use A500. It gives me a disk error after the title screen loads.

Thanks! I'm still relatively new to WinUAE. Besides the kickstart roms and the actual WinUAE, what other files do I need? The download page has a bunch of other files that don't look familiar to me.

I think if you've got the Kickstart ROMs and the WinUAE program you're all set...

(Oh and by the way, the Amiga wasn't a "console")

Wasn't there a poll asking: "do you consider Amiga as a console?" somewhere? If not, you think it should be created?
