The first archive has a different date, all of the filesizes are different (that archive is larger) and well, it doesn't have the same name, so unsurprising that I missed it (if indeed it is the same archive where only the dates appear to match most of the time).

I have created and uploaded CD listings for all of the BBS, some of the Shoikan Grove .nfo files are a little dodgy, but at least contain some info. CD nfos 4-6 are full listings with slight differences.

I've looked at that Amiga CD collection, the discs are in BIN format, but labeled ISO, and that explains the size difference.
Contents are identical, with the exception of the TNT-BBS file.
The other only change is ones without the BBS file are dated 1 year earlier.

That set can be removed and replaced with my copy, which at least works as an ISO file.

@icycool: thanks alot for adding the index (nfo/txt) files.
Code:
$ grep -i surface *
Northern Palace BBS CD24, The (1997-06 -).nfo: Surface Effektors/Dynamic Surface Effekts
Scepsis BBS CD04 (1997-05 - 1997-07 -).nfo: Surface Effektors/Dynamic Surface Effekts
the comment suggest it is the same archive, the Northern Palace version is bad,
missing the lightwave plugin (empty disk).
but this way, I dont have to download the whole folder - only 2 ISOs. thanks again

#2) this is ridiculous. 3rd different set and again 2nd disk is empty, not a single bit,
disksalv cannot find anything:
Code:
 670260 LW_SurfaceEffector 1.11-1.DMS
   2569 LW_SurfaceEffector 1.11-2.DMS
 673174 NPalace-SRFEFF1.DMS
   5483 NPalace-SRFEFF2.DMS
 676730 SRFEFF1-Scepsis.BBS.CD04.DMS
   9039 SRFEFF2-Scepsis.BBS.CD04.DMS
Code:
SRFEFF2.DMS  N   9039  06-22-97  <==========================================>
                                  Surface Effektors/Dynamic Surface Effekts
                                     Version 1.11 ... for LIGHTWAVE 2/2
...depack and copy to the subdirectory...
ThiZ File Is only 3KB !!!!!
erm, copy what?

Hello my friends.

After a long time, and after suffering serious health & family problems, I'm slowly returning to the retro world.

Today I tried to access the FTP server with the connection data I had before, but I could not.

What I need to do to connect to FTP again? ...

Thanks in advance.

FTP will be down for a bit today as I'll install 10GBit =) Yes you read that correctly =)

Of course, it will take a while before I have the money to upgrade all the servers to 10GBit but at least its prepared for it.

Back up again (For a while. Forum was overloaded). The upgrade did not go as planned. My ISP was here, trying to connect me but failed.

Apparently I'm the first consumer to get this service installed in Sweden, so it was almost expected. We'll try again next week.

So back to 1000MBit again =(

Edit: You've donated enough DamienD =)

Finally asked for an account on FTP, I've been lazy for months to not do it and suffer slow speed :-) Thanks for your great work.

Extended adf's folder

Hi

The extended ADF's folder on the FTP.
Could someone explain exactly what these are. I was wondering if these were just the SPS versions of games with protection in, or are they something different?
Cheers

An ADF is a sector dump, it only contains the "payload" data on the disk in a sequential manner.

An extended ADF is an MFM stream dump, it contains also the track and sector headers present around the data on the physical disk. Also if the track format is not an Amiga DOS format, a raw MFM stream can still convey the same information. For example MS-DOS floppies can be dumped into eADF. Some copy protections are weak enough to be represented as an eADF, other custom formats require more analysis and a more versatile format, hence the CAPS/SPS IPF format.
