Custom A1200 Build
I'm looking to do a custom A1200 build in the next 30 days. Anyone know where I can source all the parts? I have a A1200 motherboard somewhere in the basement but I might as well get everything and start over. Ideally a recapped or ReAmiga A1200 for this project. Thanx in advance for the help recommending where I can source all the parts and have someone build for me.

I bought a ReAmiga A1200 from RetroPassion in the UK and am very happy with their work. You can find full caseparts from A1200.net as well as keycaps, but you'll need a legit A1200 keyboard.
That should get you 80% of the way there. For a FDD, I would probably go with some sort of Gotek or variant which can be found in a multitude of places. The PSU is something else I think you can probably snag from RetroPassion. As for accelerators, there are tons of choices. AlenPPC makes great TerribleFire boards (I use a TF1260). He can be found on AmiBay. It's also pretty straightforward to go the PiStorm route these days. The Warp 1260 is (I believe) available and also has some flickerfixer addon board which seems neat. There are other sellers for things like clockport expansion, USB, sound, etc., on AmiBay. I can share seller details with you if you're interested. Separately I do have a recently recapped/refurbished A1200 mobo in the USA. If interested let me know. I also have a clear A1200.net case (but no other parts). |

Either way it is way more expensive than buying/fixing an A1200. I built one after buying a ReAmiga board from Chucky so I got his parts list from Mouser and ordered 80% of components from them. Then custom chips from tbtorro, screamo, chucky. Keyboard, PSU and LED light panel my own design. A1200.net case. Goex drive and backplate from Centurion tech. That accounts for most of the parts. As for building it is several hours so if you don't find a person who wants to do it for free the cost might become prohibitive.

Yes, I’m interested, how much are your goodies. I was thinking about the clear A1200 case today. Great minds think alike! |

I can do 350 for the recapped and refurb'd A1200 mobo and another 100 for the clear case |

The clear case is fantastic, I have one but I would just be careful with the screws, the brass inserts are a good idea but the plastic that holds them is very thin and fragile. I had the three in the back of my case crack and disintegrate. Just be careful if you plan to open the case more than once lol
