I am not 100% sure, but BTTR
http://eager.back2roots.org/DATA/J/JAGXJD.html
has listed a datadisk.
TOSEC includes also datadisk.
Ok, maybe its a fake, as i wrote, i dont get it to run.

are not disks 2, and unlike a regular disk 2 this are DOS disks.

K, just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing.

Let me guess, it asks for the datadisk and then just sits there banging on about the data disk??

Yes, if i select the Floppy icon in main menu, a file requester appears, where i can choose the floppy drive, then itasks for a datadisk, the i have inserted the datadisk the game asks again, dont accept the disk.

This screen appears if you load the datadisk in WinUAE.

"Load courses from gamedisk"
......but how to do?

What happens if you use DF1:, I seem to remember it being awkward with which drive it was in.
If you had in DF1: at boot, try booting without Datadisk in DF1:. When asked for it, put it into df0:.

Im sure it was something like that.

Isn't it the save game disk which first needs to be formatted in the game and then can be used for save games and new tracks? Maybe the data disks in Tosec are bogus?

What could be the purpose of a manual protection? Sorry, but the answer to that question should be obvious, don't you think?

As for the data disk, I seem to remember you needed to use a formatted disk (which you could then use to save your games).

Edit: Or, what mailman said.

There were definately 2 disks, I remember when I had it. Then the save was the 3rd disk, which you created.

Of course this is obvious, but have you tried the IPF, you can type what you want and can pass the manual proetcion, its odd.
Maybe the game dont message you, if you type something wrong.

I don't think so. More likely that the manual protection doesn't work at all or it triggers something later in-game, that locks the game or something.

The game has physical protection too, physical and manual protection, both on one disk, it seems to be rather unusual.
If the manual protection pop up later in the game it would be nasty.

There are games that work fine for a while after you've entered something wrong at the protection promt. Later you can't reach a certain level, can't save the game etc.
