Actually, I was unaware of the resource.library requirement. It is there in my libs: and I could have sworn it was there by default in a 3.2 installation but apparently I was wrong. Wonder what put it there...mind, I don't know if it hurts a 3.2 installation to have it there.

As far as xadmaster goes, I have the latest version available on Aminet (12.1), and that one works fine with Unarc. I also haven't had any problems with spaces in names using it. Neither in the filename, the source-dir, or the dest-dir. It has just worked whenever I've wanted a gui for archive-handling. To be fair, most of the time I've handled archives either by dopus or shell.

The other examples of GUI handlers are great as well,

(removed wrong info)

Having resource.library available is not going to hurt your 3.2 installation :-)

Xadmaster.library 00/020 v12.1 works fine on OS3.2, but version 060 is strangely not supported by OS 3.2, an old v8 version is required, see screenshot

Screenshot shows v8 problems, and then how does the OS influence it?
It's the entire xad system, some of it's modules and unarc requiring newer version of the lib.

No because with version 68000 and 68020 v12 no problem (only 68060 v12 has problems), modules and unarc are always the same, on OS 3.9 same files the problem doesn't exist.

Just maybe you are referring to the OS3.9 special edition XAD that is limited to it.

Ok sorry Michael I solved it, it was a problem on the WinUAE config, I recreated an A4000/060 configuration and UnARC worked perfectly, basically I wasn't using a 060 !

Am I the only one who calls a custom "Plug-and-Prey" script from within Startup-Sequence to setup proper configuration based on the available hardware? I attach the one from my current OS 3.2 installation - needs ShowBoards and AmigaT, both can be found on the Aminet. It will probably gain some more features once I tweak my installation more and more.

I have also changed few other places:
- mounting devices in Startup-Sequence
- LoadMonDrvs call in Startup-Sequence
- Network-Startup script
to only load/start what is detected.

BTW, I'm surprised there is no software available to do such things, the code itself shouldn't be complicated.

If you are referring to the function that allows you to move windows outside the Workbenchh, OS 32 doesn't need any program to do that, you just need to enable it from Prefs/IControl

Nope I am referring to the function that lets you see the content of the window when moving the window around instead of just a simple rectangle. MCP allowed you to do that and it was pretty fast when used on RTG screens.

Understood, I use that feature with MCP on my AfA One.

On OS 3.2 use "Magic Layers" tested and it seems to work fine (doesn't work with RTG screens)

Not everyone uses BoingBags 3 and/or 4 (including myself), but I haven't really noticed this issue with my BB2 setups so I've run some experiments. I have tested XADMaster 10.0 (BB2) and 12.1 (BB4), and both give the same results: Spaces get replaced by underscores if the lha header level for the archive is 1 or 2, but are kept as spaces if the header level is 0. Now, the header level defaulted to 0 up until lha version 2.14, so I'm wondering if it's just a coincidence and most archives seemed to work after the update because most archives out there were made with an older version of lha?

As an aside, I did experience this issue with the OS4 version of UnArc, but it was the XAD plugin that handled lha archives that was the issue (and was updated to fix it), not xadmaster itself. So I also swapped out the BB2 Libs:xad drawer for the BB4 one, just in case the plugins were involved too, but I still get the same behaviour...

is MCP installed correctly with patchcontrol and mcp in Startup-sequence? The commodity didn't work for me. Also i set the surfacesize of solid window moving to 500000.
I can test with the aminet p96 later to see if that makes the diffence.

"Solid Window Moving" works fine on OS 3.2 RTG with MCP 1.48 + P96 v2.0 (Aminet)

Check sure you have MCP in the startup-sequence and have enabled "Solid Windowmoving" in MCP Preferences.

@Daedelus:

You're right, I should have checked my notes first. According to them there is no xad version available for 68K that doesn't have this bug; the change made for BB3&4 was merely for the installer to check whether this alteration of filenames had happened to susceptible files in the BB3&4 archive (ie. it had been unpacked with UnArc or similar) and compensate accordingly.

You are right, it is working, for some reason after I did reinstall it was not in the startup sequence. Working perfectly. Thank you.
