@terminills out of curiosity... is it technically even plausible to do an Amiga port of something like Libre office?

Libreoffice runs slow even on my Core i7, so I wouldn't want to see it on an Amiga.
Perhaps Mac OS has some better office software that can be used on the Amiga?

Not something I'm interested in personally. If I was I wouldn't have paid for Final Writer. :P

well depends on your A1200 config. With 030 you could also run WordPerfect 3.5 or Word 6.0 on a top of Macintosh emulator saving file to .doc or .rtf. These are the last versions before PowerPC transition.

Is there a LaTex editor/compiler for amiga?

Also, what was said before makes a lot of sense: I also struggle with writing important text, when there is always some interruption. Of course it sounds stupid, as you could just sever your laptop internet connection and achieve the same thing, but on windows there's always some balloon notice, facebook event or incoming spam email distracting you. Or windows nagging about updating/restarting/reminding in 10 minutes etc.

Maybe I would actually be more productive on the Amiga

I have a demo copy of Wordworth 7 for the PC and some kind person gave me a keyfile for it so no nag screens, but it only works on a 32 bit PC system.

Mine is a windows 7 machine. As far as I know it saves in a format which Wordworth 7 on the Amiga will read as if it created it. I can let you have a copy if it helps.

Here it is running on my 32 bit Windows 7 desktop (Theres no spell checker or thesarus)

I don't get it, aren't those distractions only there when you actually load them first?

Yes, but I guess we are addicted to them. It's like telling a heroin user that the heroine is only a problem because you choose yourself to use it.

Isn't ABIWord available or was that for OS4?
I wouldn't mind seeing LibreOffice, it run fine on all my systems from newish laptop to the old 2002 one and all my documents are in odt/ods anyway.

I'm trying to remember that word processor that used to come on Amiga cover disks as a demo (I think)

I had several installed back in the day - the one I used most had a picture of a feather quill on the disk (I think - its been a long time) .
My ex used one that came off a cover disk - then she left and ran off with both my Amigas' !!!!! To write poetry - I bumbed into her ten years later in 2004 and she was still using them to write poetry!! And asked if I still had the printer!!!!!!!!
