All about Amiga graphics cards

I see amigas in late 90s where beginning to use graphics cards.question is,is there an amiga guide to them?.basic questions are-

1-How rare/scarce are these cards

2-Could a an old p.c card be adapted to be used on the amiga?

Well I guess they're pretty rare, however you stumble upon them from time to time on ebay, often insanely priced. And yes, SOME pc cards can be used through a Mediator PCI board. I had a Voodoo3 2000 in my Amiga 1200 a few years ago. There are Mediators for A4000 too aswell.

I think this was the only graphics card ever released that will (just about) fit into a 1200 case.

Why do you want a different graphics card anyway? If you're into retro computing then you'll probably want to use the standard AGA chipset which can output 1024x768 in you plug in an IndivisionAGA and use HighGFX.

If you really feel the need to run 90's PC graphic cards instead then you'll need to do a Tower conversion and buy a Mediator, you won't actually be able to use it for most of your classic software though

And it will probably cost you more than buying a new SAM with OS 4.1 installed

The blizzardvision is going to be 100 times faster then aga at high res, high colour screenmodes and it does 24bit! (but costly as you stated!)

Yes the Blizzardvision was a good card for the time but they are hard to find and you also need a PPC card to go with them....$$$

If this doesn't show up properly...... klikk on "Amiga, akseleratorkort" and you'll see the price there for BlixardPPC and the BVisionPPC card.... roughly £600 at the current exchange rates

Personally, I'ld love that BlizzPPC a BVision.... got a spare 19" monitor here.....

Is there any way of doing an "Amiga - gfx-card passthrough" kinda thing? I mean... something that let's me view native Amiga modes through the gfx-card?
