CD32 and CDTV what to look out for? (buying).
hey guys, i'm going to look at a couple of machines and want to know if there's anything i should look out for.
machines are in thread title a CD32 (it has a TF330 in it and has been recapped apparently) and a bone stock CDTV (which has been in storage and afaik basically unused). hitting them up this weekend (the CD32 tonight so in less than 12 hours) so anything you can tell me would be appreciated. |

Caps and laser on CD32 are the usual things that go wrong, I was lucky and took a chance on one on ebay... came recapped!

They are a great little machine, I have the TF330 in mine and it makes for an awesome WHDLoad machine!

I ended up getting the CDTV, the CD drive needs some lubrcation as it doesn't always spin up CD's. Everything else on it works great, for a bit of fun i plugged my external GoTeK into it and everything worked as expected. It did come with some nice bits too like a keyboard (which let me tell you is the best Amiga keyboard I've ever used) and a less than amazing but still serviceable IR mouse plus a bunch of CD's.
I can say without a doubt the CD32 is a "proper" Amiga and the CDTV falls strictly under the oddity category, but I really love them both and am glad I now own them. |

Its not that bad. It filled the part of a CD Player, . Back then, that was all the craze. I love CDTV as much as CD32. Both are great machines in there own right. CDTV lacks in chip department, thats my only complaint. |

a fellow Brisbanite, thanks for the welcome - i really do love this machine. the previous owner was pretty happy that it sold locally too.
i really do like both machines (and my old 500 of course) i have limited space so i'm going to have to figure out a way to have them all plugged in and easy to switch between. |
