Well.. You can make the Manta take off like this:
1. Choose Mantas (left icon row, 4th from top) 2. Choose Deck view (right icon row, 4th from top) 3. At bottom of screen, choose the little carrier with UP arrow. 4. At bottom of screen, choose the take-off icon. It's a little hard to get into. But once u learn it, it can be interresting. At least, it was in the aerly 90's.. I'll post another message in 2 mins.. |

U can change the Fuel level for Manta 1, while it's on the ship. So the fuel values change in memory. Like this:
1. Choose Mantas, like before. 2. Choose loading bay (right icon row, 3rd from top) 3. In bottom right corner of the screen, the word "REFUEL" is seen. With the arrows beside here, you can drain fuel, or give it fuel. You don't have to help me, if you get frustrated, I know what that is like. |

hmm.. "looked around the code".. When it froze here, it jumped in at about 13D1A.. That seems far from the address you found. How did you get to it? Or is it complicated to explain?
When it froze, you started searching just by typing D (disassemble), right? From there, you have to really know some things anbout assembler code, to track it down? |

Did it jump in at 13D1A when you did it? It does that everytime here. And there is a lot of sub commands between 13D1A and 1FCE8..

Oh.. I took the fuel away manually. When I fly around, it jumps in at around the address u found.. That's good. I learned something today! Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Sorry, another question.. Is it generally in the SAME subroutine everytime? |

Whoa whoa... That's another story for me. Not yet. I read some crack tutorials here and there, about how you change what u have to change. Then find where the program starts and ends, and dump it to disk, and pack it.. Somehow.. It's all very interresting, but I don't think I'm ready to learn that just yet. If I have to make it permanent, I have to do it the extremely lame way - dump the whole memory to disk!
For now, I'll take tons of notes, and a few save-states in WinUAE.. |
