Problems with Aminet Radio
Hi
I am having some problems trying to get Aminet Radio to wok properly and was hoping someone could kindly help point me in the right direction. Basically I just want to run it as a sort of background thing so I can listen to the usual range of Amiga Game & Demoscene related Radio stations whilst I'm doing other stuff. My Amiga conifg is the latest AMiKit 1.6.7 config running WinUAE 2.7.0 and I'm running the standard out-of-the-box Aminet Radio installation that comes with the AmiKit distro. The problems I'm having are:- * The ShoutSearch function doesn't seem to work at all. Regardless of what I type in the Shoutsearch box and hit 'Go' it doesn't find anything. * I've tried manually getting URLs of Radio stations but the only one that works is Scenesat 'http://r3.scenesat.com:8000/scenesat' which I type into the box you get under the main Aminet Radio display when you hit the 'U' button. When I try any other URLs they either don't do anything or cause WinUAE to crash Its all rather frustrating. I'm trying really hard to persevere as I do want to carry on using the Amiga environment but this getting AMinet to work like so much in Amigland is incredibly opaque and seem to take 10 times as long as (sorry to say it) Windows to work out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Andy |

Hi:
Are you using the AmiKit for Pc or the Real version? For the Real version I'm going to add a drawer on the next update with a couple of working radio stations and I've updated the ptplay.library. You should read this thread: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=70627 I'm going to add this: RockRadio1.com: http://87.98.146.216:8000/ And 2 from here: Radio Schizoid I have to see if I add any other, and also the pls of Energy98 doesn't work any more so I will search another. Edit: Fixed now. I would also like to find Amiga music or related streams Edit: This works: http://c64radio.com/ This too: http://www.commoradio.net/ And this: The MOD Station: http://streams4.invertedhost.com:219...n/jotayl02.pls Well, I have to say that I only use AmiNetRadio with WinUAE, as it can't run with the Mas player (well, in fact I could with my BPPC too), but you can listen those radio stations with AmigaAMP or AMPlifier with the MAS on a real Amiga (well, haven't tried these last yet). And about the shoutcast search, I don't know if it actually can work (you should setup it's settings), but when I need to search for a radio station what I do is (like now) just use google and try it later on WinUAE. I'm going to include 6 radio stations on my update, at least by now. Last edited by Retrofan; 21 January 2014 at 02:40. |

Thanks for that. I'll try those URLs. I am ursing AMiKit 1.6.7 for PC not Real as I'm running under WinUAE.
Also interested in your comments on setting-up the Shoutsearch fuinction. The only setup I can find is the tab under Settings for selecting a Proxy Server. Is that what you were referring to if so I would really appreicate any advice on what URL to use for a working Proxy Svr? If there's something else you are aware of I need to setup please could you advise. Thanks again Andy |

TuneNet for OS4 had the same problem, so a patch that redirected it to a clone site was made: http://os4depot.net/index.php?functi...nenetpatch.lha I'm not sure if it would be possible for AmiNetRadio to use this site, or if the site is even still active. There is a playlist collection on OS4.Depot, I have had a quick check through it, and copied out the ones that work with AmiNetRadio: WorkingPlaylists.lha |

Thanks a lot James, I will add that list of working streams to my next update.
Yes, shoutcast doesn't work, but you won't need it andyhants as long as you'll have around 32 streams to choose. Have you got my Real version installed for WinUAE? I would like you to try my WIP 06 update, as I've been improving AmiNetRadio and as I say all the streams I've tried work. |

Your Highness is ok
I've developed the AmiKit Real version, that's what I was talking about, and I'll be improving AmiNetRadio for it in my next update. I will send you a PM later to not go offtopic. You can run my version on WinUAE, or with some changes even run it on WinUAE 2.7 with RTG emulation. |

I've just tried this way to open radio streams -it doesn't work-:
- You first set IBrowse to use it: ( From here http://amigazeux.org/index.php?modul...unc=view#faq30) "Is there any way to set up ANR to run when I click on a Shoutcast URL? Sure you can. ANR checks the URL argument for .pls and if yes will stream from the URL in the .pls file. Simply set a x-scpls MIME type for .pls files on your browser and set AmiNetRadio as the viewer. For example, in IBrowse: SYS:AmiNetRadio/AmiNetRadio URL %r. " - Then you first delete the npflash.library there is in IBrowse/Plugins and you change it with the npflashplayer.library from here: http://aminet.net/package/gfx/show/FlashPlayerPlugin "Let me be clearer on the plugin. The old one is named "npflash.library". It is PPC native. It needs to be ----deleted. The new one is named "npflashplayer.library". That one is 68k and is the one that worked fine for you with the test page links." (I read that here: http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/...thread&order=0) when searching when IBrowse was crashing because of the npflash.library when opening the shoutcast web. - Then you can search on Shoutcast.com or wherever. Better look for streams for WinAMP. Once you click on one an IBrowse window with folders will appear, open the third folder (view wit) to select to open the file with AmiNetRadio (it will appear there). - Well, it won't open the stream . I tried also with AmigaAMP and it complained about "Timeout while prebuffering". BUT what you can do is just to download it (another folder, so do not use the view wit folder) and then you can open AmiNetRadio and open the pls just stored in Downloads Well, that's not what I wanted, so forget about assigning the MIME type, but just to share the attempt.
