Anyone remember "Knightmare" as a kid?
Hey
Do any of you remember the show "Knightmare" where 4 kids showed up in this castle, one put a helmet with horns on and the other three would guide him around a generated world. Some of my colleagues seem to think that that generated world was done with an Amiga, can anyone confirm this? I'm not too sure.. Would be nice to think so though |

The backdrops (main gfx) were not made on an Amiga AFAIK.

Hiya, I'm new to the boards.
Knightmare was and is still the greatest kids show ever.. As my slightly naughty entire collection of Knightmare episode testifies.. What were the TV execs smoking the day they cancelled Knightmare? |

Knightmare was possibly one of the best concepts for a children's program ever conceived - it was just so cool at the time, very advanced considering the budget limitations, fantastic theme tune and still come across well today!
It just has that unique creepiness, creating its own intense atmosphere and captured the feel of the rising computer and technical era of the time. I think it also coincided with the popularity of HeroQuest and other fantasy board games and figures. A great time to be a kid. As said above, a few did finish it. That great site linked above has the vids of the victories I think, as I remember watching them a while back. |

David Learner was the guy who played the elf.
I had the pleasure of working with him a few years ago (at a marketing company) and a nicer chap you could not wish to meet. He also played Marvin in the TV adaptation of 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy'. |

Yeah he seemed a nice bloke to me! I could not read his name but he also signed his name as pickles (I think that is what the elf was called)
