mbhdload.lha Mars Bars hard driver loaders
Hi.
I'm requesting mbhdload.lha Mars Bars hard drive loader source. I downloaded a 700mb iso from a bbs archive and it was damaged so I could not extract the .lha. Thanks. |

Not never, but hardly any. It was very configuration dependant. His installers works on FastRAM cards (and AFAIR not all of them!) but doesn't work on accelerators (68030 and above).
Moreover nowdays there are probably all games which were in Mars Bars versions already covered by JST or WHDLoad versions. Why You don't try to make WHDLoad installer? |

I had quite a few Mars Bar/Crimewatch UK installers myself when I had an A500 (1Mb chip + 2Mb fast) and on my A1200 (2Mb chip only at the time) and I can't think of ANY of his installers that worked on my configs!

I've never used WHDLoad, If the game had a HD install I'd use it, otherwise I would just run it off disk. |

Yeah some of the intros on janeway.exotica.org mention some hefty ram requirements for some of the games, so they were obviously just RAM loaders and not proper HD loaders. But then Syndicate used to trash the HD and on reboot you had to wait along time for the HD to fix it self. Ahhh the 40MB ide days |

I've definitely used some on 68030 but when they say 2MB they won't work with 2mb chip it has to be 1mb Chip 1 fast etc although some installers mention fakemem it never worked for me.
Unless you want some feature from these installers like a trainer or for nostalgia best to use WHDload or JST instead. |
