Launched to the press in April
Launched to the public in June So no not really, it's official launch was June. You might as well say it's birthday was March when it was first manufactured lol |

I had this wave of deja vu when I saw this thread and remembered all the fuss over it in Feb, even Alan Sugar got in on it himself on his twitter. https://twitter.com/Lord_Sugar/statu...83100797734913
Wouldnt mind getting my hands on one of these - http://cpcrulez.fr/hardware-464-CPC_uncovered.htm - shame a bunch of them got binned! And finally Sugar reckons he could have been Gates or Jobs - http://www.mirror.co.uk/money/city-n...ica-id-3183318 Last edited by gunni; 17 June 2014 at 23:22. Reason: added links |

Had several variants in my old collection (all long gone now). Thought I'd fire up MESS and play a few Amstrad games.
For those in the know it was actually a pretty decent line of home computers. Once games where being made to show off it's true capabilities (instead of straight ZX ports) it was pretty darn good. IMHO. The GX4000 was well underrated....Burning Rubber was one of the best 8 Bit version out there For Amstrad fan's....keep it up ......now where's my A1200? |

I had some good old times with the CPC 464, my friend got one a few years after i got my C64 when we were kids and we used to both play games on each computer.
I always felt superior with the C64 and i'm sure my friend knew the C64 was better to, but would never admit it lol, it was possibly because he only had the green monochrome monitor while i was running the C64 on a large tv in full colour. But the 464 was still a decent machine and i always liked the look of it in it's black colour and coloured key sets, and i think one of the games i played the most on it was Everyones A Wally, i can still remember the music from it and it possibly came with a real audio tape with the song as well. Good memories. |

Yes these are superb, bought and repaired one recently and just need to get a colour screen for it, or an external PSU and Scart lead.
So huge I can't find anywhere to store it though! |
