Old bouncing balls display hack
Here is a tricky one for you...
Once I had a utility-disk, "MCC (Melbourne Cracking Crew) Copiers". One program was listed as "NoVirus", but I am familiar with NoVirus and it was not that. Apparently instead a different program had been copied there. This program created a few smallish balls and they bounced around the screen. These balls would "eat" the graphics, whilst making a noise, when they touched text, window borders, etc. and IIRC it might make more balls when that happens. I've looked on Aminet and downloaded everything that seemed like it could possibly be it, but alas. So does anyone know what it is called? or maybe where to get it? Maybe someone even possibly has MCC Copiers? Many thanks. |

Damn i soo remember them .. Was a real cool effect .. I had it as a stand alone proggy i remember that you could put on any disk.
Was just like the langoliers in the film "Langoliers" (Stephen King). |

I don't suppose you remember the name of the program or still have the disk somewhere?

Jotted down on my list to look for when I get home. Back in the day, I had every screen hack (and "schwabbie") ever created for the Amiga; I remember which one you speak of, so I'll surely be able to find it.

Erm, I thought someone already posted it. Lemme go and dig it up and I'll post a note here after I have done so.

Sorry, I know I am not much help here. So many things in my way since I posted that...my system is slowly (?) dying (if I open any big app, I need to reboot shortly afterwards, among other fatal issues), no time to even get my other PC up and running as my management of several music artists is swallowing me up with tour plans, recording schedules, photo shoots, etc. At my job, I barely have time to even open a web browser on most nights lately, I haven't booted an Amiga game in weeks and even my HOL work is suffering. I figured after a co-worker returned from his wedding/vacation that things might return to normal, but it's been a week and the chaos still lingers. Heck, I don't even have my TOSEC Amiga collection on my system anymore! I need to enroll in a
Ç|ü$térfû¢k Management course... (sigh) |

OK, since I felt bad about my negligence here, I dug up a whole bunch of the old screen hacks from my old-ass collection. Somewhere I have the descriptions of these from my BBS, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that one. I zipped up all 144 lha files and they are in the Zone. Maybe you'll find some rare stuff in there, who knows. They all came from the BBS' I frequented back then, not Aminet (although I suspect Aminet houses many of these). The only change from the state I downloaded them in is that once LHA came out for the Amiga, all my lzh files were converted to it (and those had been morphing from arc, zoo, zip files as it was). This is a good thing. Hope the demo you seek is in this pile. Have fun!
