Gotek as external floppy drive not working

Hi guys,
back from a long absence with my amiga collection and one of the first things i was trying to test was a gotek drive as df1: on an external case. I'm testing it on an a2000 with os1.3 but all i get is a df2:bad icon. The gotek is flashed with the latest flashfloppy firmware. No jumpers on the unit.
Any help appreciated.
Best

Rod

Provide some pictures of your Gotek connections and jumpers, and external adapter/controller you are using.

But, there needs to be a jumper on s0.

In the A2000 the first external drive will be df2 as you noticed.

Bad? Any adf inserted in the gotek?

df2:bad means the drive is recognized but not image/adf file is mounted or inserted.

It means the drive is recognized, and the drive reports a disk in, but it is unreadable. Some further configuration is needed.

Yes you're right. I should clarify that DF2:Bad means the drive is recognized but no adf/image file cannot be mounted because it's unreadable.
