Anyone interested in CDTV?
Hello all,
I have now gotten rid of all my CDTV stuff except the CDTV itself because it is so heavy and difficult to handle in terms of postage. I haven't opened it up so I don't know all the revision numbers etc, but I know it has some sort of adapter to make it possible to use ordinary mouse/joystick with it - this sticks out as a flat cable just under the cover, and hasn't been "hacked away" into the expansion port or anything, so the whole unit is still intact. It seems to have seen very little use. I got it from a neighbour a few years ago, he even gave me the original receipts But unfortunately not the boxes etc! The only things included by now would be the original IR remote and power cable plus any software of course... There are some caddies, as well as two demo CD's from Commodore and I think some game titles as well (didn't locate these yet!). I think it will be worth around £50+postage, but if you think otherwise maybe start a debate about it here so other people owning similar devices can get informed Cheerio, -Mabus |

I'm interested, but not at 50 quid .
I don't want to get into a bidding war, so drop me a PM if you are interested in selling for less. |

Of course seller always wants more and buyer wants to offer less, but if it goes to a good home I am interested in offers. Also tell me what you want to do with it I do realise the postage will be an issue anyway for most people!

Don't worry portugeezal, I didn't think you were in the running, was just curious to see what kind of ideas Zetr0 had about what to do with the machine
Anyway, I'm in Tottenham. If you are nearby maybe we could to meet up for a pint sometime! Cheerio, |

i would like just the cdtv chassis (with led screen) although I could probalby use a more recent one based on pixels instead.
I would love to retr0 fit an A1200 inside the chassis with either an 040/06 with the following
Also a few mods for Infrared / wireless keyboard + mouse + Joysticks yeah... thats what I would have planned |

Well, I'd use it as a CDTV . I thought I'd scored one a while back without a caddy, controller, ... so managed to get the ancillaries. But then didn't get the base unit!
No way near as interesting as Z's use |

Sounds like a quite nifty project ! I assume you would then also replace the PSU and drive mechanism? Those seem to take a lot of space in the CDTV, and I know you like a dose of PicoPSU anyway Would you use a laptop drive aligned with the same place as CD slot of the old mechanism?
Would it really be possible to fit all those nifty PCI cards in there with the busboard? I have a bunch of those PCI cards around and them seem fairly large to me - the CDTV frame really isn't that big... like a stereo player but heavier... Quote:
