I suppose this forum is not endorsed by A-EON, and you posted a TOPIC, not a commercial, so we can express ourselves freely in what we think about, even if you think is a stupid opinion. Please stay in topic and stop all this fallacy. We will see what happens with this company, SO ORIGINAL!

There's a million Octamed players out there, available for ages. What's the point of this?

If you do not use ReAction or an AHI sound card in your Amiga, you will be happy with the older version.
My Amiga 1200T has OS3.9 and a Mediator with PCI sound card, so it is preferable for my setup. |

Eagleplayer can play through AHI since forever and fully supports OctaMED formats.

EaglePlayer is very nice program, lots of eye candy and the skins look great. However sometimes, I want something small and lightweight to run on my A1200 - resources are key on my setup
Lots of users fondly remember using OctaMedPlayer so are instantly familiar with this new version. |

It emulates a Maestro sound card through AHI so apps which have Maestro support can output 16-bit via AHI. Seems to work with Mediator/SB128 in Octamed but I need to play with it some more to find an appropriate AHI mode to use with it. AFAIK it doesn't support recording. |

On the Amiga I avoid AHI as I can, because it only slows down and worsens the quality of the sound. At neoAmiga it is unfortunately doomed to AHI, unless we have the ability on the same hardware to run OSX normal system sound Core Audio.
