control, fits right in your hand, perfect!!Great for playing KICKoff 2, when you
need a Joystick that's just the right size and performs great aftertouch

The main control pads I use for my Amigas these days are Competition Pro CD32 pads, although I still have a couple of original Commodore CD32 pads plugged into some of the A1200s and CD32s we have set up around the place. Back in the A500 days, I had plenty of joysticks, including half of the ones posted so far. I really loved the big flight stick style digital ones for games like Stunt Car Racer, because combined with my swivelling, rotating, rocking chair, I'd be moving around like I was in one of those hydrolic arcade machines.

Before the Competition Pro CD32 pads, I had a few Sega Master System and Mega Drive pads, and they were alright too, especially if the games supported the second fire button.

My next project is going to be an arcade cabinet with dual Playstation arcade joysticks wired up inside it. With this, I can hook up a PS1 or PS2, or using those Playstation-to-CD32 adapters, any Amiga. I can't wait to play some good Amiga games that support the CD32's extra buttons with an arcade stick instead of a pad for once. Running Fightin' Spirit in it would feel like a real arcade machine.

If I do get those adapters (either bought from someone on eBay if he relists them, or maybe making one myself if I learn how) I'll get a few more Nubitech Street Fighter Playstation control pads too, since these have the best D-pad and button layout of any Playstation pad I've ever used.

I bought an adapter ATARI to USB pc, so i can use megadrive pad on pc. It was the pad i used on my A1200. The most confortable pad i ever had.

Also the SMS pad was fine, example with Swos, it was very precise for the famous diagonal moves.

I had many joysticks... my prefeared was Speedking,





(please note the prize is not in English pounds, but in Italian Lire. A normal joystick usually had a prize of 12.000 - 15.000 lire...it was so expensive, but really good!!!), but I loved also TAC2 and Cruiser (I had a black one):

I had those and another version with a lift up thingy to adjust how sensitive it was, on the hardest setting it was like punching a wall, I had quite a few fail, always the micro switches gave in on me.

Competition Pro was ok :

Arrived this morning



It's BIG (almost 50cm across), got an arcade feeling to it and the knob in the right place (on the left!). Loved my Mavericks back in the day but this is so much better. Originally created for Sega's Megadrive but works great with both my miggies

I've used one of those in the past, too... not for long though, it was rubbish.

Errr... the Quickshot for some reason when ever I pick up a ST, Speccy or C64 from a car boot or market or skip you can just about GURANTEE one of those horrid things is with it.

Upon testing said joystick you found in bin/skip/dog kennal you can then gurantee the auto fire thingy at least thats what I presume it was at the back of the stick don't work, and the stick feels very unresponsive. I also dislike those sticks for what I would say is crap build quaility.

All in all it just feels poor

I have some other QuickShot sticks for the SNES & MD, although the extra buttons just add to the crapness, I do have a stick I think from QuickShot for the SNES and it has little analogue style wheel adjusters.




I loved these sticks I used to sell them for the Saturn, the cost was SUPER only £0.50p per stick shame they weighed a ton :/

I had Quick Shot 2 sticks for the C64 in the 80s. One of the best and cheapest Summer Games & Co. sticks ever, useless for all non-joggling games.

Here in Italy were released some joysticks with Quick Shot 2 look and a switch for a "Decathlon" function. Instead of move stick left-right you had only to push fire.

I don't remember their names, but I loved some Greek made metal joysticks using real arcade stick and buttons (which after all were VERY common as spares back then, unlike today). They looked almost hand-made (maybe they were). Even if I could still use them (I need to buy some adapter to make them compatible with PC) they would probably outlive me.

They were not "almost unbreakable" they were UNBREAKABLE.

I hated most quickshots (it was the "made in China" quality of the 80ies).

I also hate my 2600 joysticks and in fact they were notorious for NOT lasting long (both mine are dead for many years now) and for the mushy feeling that gave no real feeling of control and precision.

But undeniably they are of the Big Names of Nostalgia.
