ZunePaint v0.3 is available:

What's new:

- Text mode is implemented
- GUI reworked a bit (mode options only appear when applicable)
- a Slider for zoom level is now a bottom of image
- Palette reorganised
- No more remaining "ZuneView" text

New ZunePaint in action

ZunePaint is a fresh new image editing and 2D painting application from Yannick Erb. Due to its flexibility and size, we've decided to place it into both Icaros Desktop Live! and Light editions. Release after release, Yannick added many functions to his program, from gradient filling to text tool. The most recent one is the chance to copy a piece of an image, resize it on the fly with the mouse wheel or with a slider, and paste it wherever you like. I've made a little video starting Icaros Desktop hosted on a Linux virtual machine, showing some example operations on ZunePaint. Speed is considerable, but please remember it was running on a hosted environment, which was again running into a virtual machine (a para-emulated computer). Running it natively on real hardware would make it even faster. The video also shows MPlayer in action, still running on the same hosted+virtual environment, for reference. ZunePaint v0.9 is out :

- corrected regressions introduced in latest releases:
- Text preview is working again
- Saving requester is shown if exiting with modified picture
- selections from Magic Wand and Lasso can be combined (keeping shift key pressed)
- improved slightly display speed for selection area preview

ZunePaint V0.10:

Do not show ILBM as a save option (it isn't working)
Reworked interface to allow use of smaller resolution screen
Magic Wand and Lasso select could crash for big regions (WORD overflow)

ZunePaint v0.11:

News of the version:

- Added possibility to "stretch" clipboard and text objects.
- Remove use of static variable in mcc_Pictdisp.c
- Added Eraser function
- Tolerance range extended to 0-255

ZunePaint are updated to support masks in ilbm output for transparence (alpha channel is converted to mask based on the transparence threshold from the quantization interface, default is "0", i.e. not mask.
