AFAIK lha.run is an executable lha version. So, if you delete lha.run from c directory you want be able to lha x .. because it is gone. What you need is lha22.lha and lha.run at the beginning. Use lha.run to unpack lha22.lha to ram: Then copy lha ,which is in the RAM: to c directory. And that's it.

I was sure lha.run was the selfextracting lha directly from whatever he was called? Otherwise, we could just rename (or make an alias in Shell-startup) lha.run lha, and then the problem would be gone

Just tried myself. He is right. lha.run is a selfextracting file. Copy lha.run to c. Open a newshell type sys:c/lha.run. After that look in your c directory. You should have the files lha,lha.run and lhx plus a readme file.
