2 new plugins, on the ftp:
- Bman-AlphClip - LW PlugIn
This plugin will clip out various portions of the alpha channel of an image.

- Bman-InfraredVision - LW PlugIn
produces infrared like effect, IR colors you can modify

#1) as allways, if something does not work, just report.

2 more Image Filter Plugins:
- Kevman Vmixer:
adds animated effects like graining, sepia, negative and more, dependent on position or scale of object

- Kevman Vhud:
adds static and animated HUD elements to the final image, lines, circles, coordinates, radar and more.

both are in WIP state but worth a look, since i finaly managed to make them work

- LWMath.p: Same size as yours, Emufan, 28308.
It only adds two plugins, a 'Mathmorph' Displacement plugin and a 'MathMotion' ItemMotionInterface plugin, accessible from an Object's Motion Graph panel.

- Bman's AlphaClip: Not sure it it works correctly.
Upon clicking 'Options', the plugin 'paints' the upper left sides of all Layout buttons to the Fill color's color. Although I can understand this is needed to preserve the 4-colour palette, the color remains even after the plugin requester is closed.

When using it, it seems like the Fill color paints the Backdrop while in 'MORE Transparent' for Threshold values > 0, and the Objects in 'LESS Transparent' for Threshold values < 255.

No change is being applied in the Alpha Channel, though (checked this by saving Alpha Images).

- Bman's Infrared vision: As with AlphaClip, upon clicking 'Options',
the plugin 'paints' the upper left sides of all Layout buttons to the Fill color's color.
Although I can understand this is needed to preserve the 4-colour palette,
the color remains even after the plugin requester is closed.

Infrared works great. Using say, 0, 255, 0 and 0, 25, 0 for Vision Color and Dark Area color respectively produced some very nice night vision images.

Something interesting i just noticed, the Dithering settings are saved on the image only in rendered buffer formats, like HAM8, so this Night Vision grain I get when rendering is lost in True Color formats...

I couldn't find Vmixer or Vhud in the FTP server...

- Bman's AlphaClip: judging from the source code, it does use the threshold for some operation.
if this all makes sense, in a technical view I cannot say.

#1) the ugly color trashing happens if there is a color slider, might be the reduced color number,
dunno exactly, but I cannot prevent this. same happens on a promoted RTG screen.

#2) missing files, using the web search? it does need a day for an uodate of the search database, so use
a ftp client ( /~Uploads/emu/Lightwave/00-PlugIns )

#3) which dither settings, where to find ?

#4) btw. save offten, when using vmixer and vhud - they do crash sometimes

#5) small hud demo: https://sendvid.com/wh1surq2 - the radar is funny
the coords display is picky, the scale factor does not work. is one the todo list.

Not in front of a computer atm to check the rest, but for #3 I'm talking about LW's own dithering settings on the same sub-tab one can find the global Glow, Overlay and Image/Pixel plugins.

Will check the rest when I get back from work...

.
found it, never changed things there.
I'm no expert when it comes to those details, so not sure here.

btw. thanks for testing the plugin stuff - did the 5.0f modeler already crash?

Cool! I have to research more about Dither settings and their effect in TrueColor images.

No prob, glad to be of help whenever I can. Modeler is still steady as a rock, although I was waiting for the weekend to model some stuff. Will report on Monday ;-)

dither was used (invented?!) back then, when there was a limited number of colors.
so the final image would look less "blocky". with truecolor there is no need for using dither.
maybe ppl at newtek were thinking the same way, skiping dither, when writing the raw
data to 24bit images. would explain the issue.

Heya! The new patched Modeler has been rock-solid for me the whole time, not once did I encounter the notorious dongle bug...

Image was off topic, sorry. Moved to LW Showroom thread.

two new plugins:
Bman-Gradient - ImageFilter Plugin, draws color gradient to the final image
Bman-Mandel - Shader Plugin - manipulates the luminosity of a surface

--> as a reminder: using Shader Plugins you have to save the object, after you applied
such type of plugin, to preserve the settings.

on the ftp: /~Uploads/emu/Lightwave/00-PlugIns

truly great website:
The Art of LightWave Plug-ins by Bman - his website 1998.

I've added another plugin: BlotchGUI.
while the plugin is sort of boring, it has now an interface/gui.

it was build using some source code from the LW5.6 SDk. (lwsdk56.tar.gz /sample/common/panels)
it's now easier to align buttons and such stuff and the plugin Interface window you can move around.

at the start of the interface section you define size of the window
and the new functions ensure they fit and are align properly

to build a plugin using the new functions, you need to add gui_help.c and gui_help.h to your project.

on the ftp: Blotch_Gui.lha

another Plugin added: ObjectTest

it is a Generic Layout plugin ( Options -> Generic Plugins -> ObjectList )
it does display info about the objects in the current scene, position, surfaces, poly and point numbers.
it's not so special, but it does build and work with LW 5.0

it came with the lw56 sdk, using gui_help and lwobjacc.h (5.6 sdk).

on the ftp: ObjectTest.lha

ok, cool. look at the different plugin window of BlotchGUI, compared to other plugins.
there seems to be some hidden features in LW5.0. at least GUI related

All plugins tested in real h/w and working. Great!

Regarding ObjectList, I couldn't decipher the 'surface size' box...

from sdk/lwobjacc.h - this is just the size of the surface definition hunk in the objectfile itself.
Code:
typedef struct st_LWSurface
{
   char *name;
int size; // may be 0 if no/empty SURF chunk found...
unsigned char *data;	// NULL if size==0
} LWSurface;
