Help with A500 Mod

I am currently trying to set up An amiga 500 with a VXL30 with a 32 ram board. The problem I am having is do to the large footprint of the VXL. It coveres denise, and the flicker freee I have needs to piggyback on the denise socket. I can't fit both the VXL and the flicker free, so I have tried to solder a ribbon cable to dip sockets, but when I get it put back together, the mouse pointer is constantly shifting and the image is not crisp. When i just plug the flicker free into the denise socket it works perfectly. I have checked my solder joints everything is good. Is it due to the length of ribbon cable that I am using? Do I need to use a large gauge wire? Do I need to place capacitors along the wires?

Second note I purchased an A500 with a mobo rev 6A which gave me a green screen. I have sent it off to be repaired, but the person is wanting me to swap with a rev 5 board. Is there a significant improvement between the 2 revisions except for the 1 meg agnus? Then other thing I noticed was that the keyboard for my rev 5 mobo has 1 more wire in the wire harness than the keyboard for the Rev 6A. I have tried the keyboard from the 6A on the 5 mobo but the keyboard just hangs.

Thanking anyone in advance

Yeah, I think it's the cable length... Make it much shorter! Like 3-4 cm max!

Wrapping the whole ribbon cable in tin foil and connecting it to an earthing point on the Amiga may help, then you'd have to cover the whole tin foil in something else to stop it grounding out other components. The other option is mod wire and twisting the board through 90 - 180 degrees CW or CCW?

Just thoughts

Using another 68 pins 68000 socket under the accelerator will clear enough space to use both boards at same time, but I'm unsure if you'll able to close the case after that.
