GVP SCSI HC+8 Series II Rom upgrade

Hi,

Okay so now I have the GVP SCSI card with version 4.13 rom. I would like to burn a replacement eeprom with the last ver 4.15 from Ralph Babel's site. Now I know this isn't an eeprom burning support page, but I have a couple of general questions about that process.

He is using hex instead of a bin file. Is there a pc conversion program that will take it from hex to bin? Would I then need to byte-swap like for a OS Rom?

He also states that if using a 27C256 that you have to burn to both lower and higher bits, (00000 and 0x4000). Would a 27C128 work just as well on a GVP SCSI HC+8 Series II card?

Thanks,

No need for a byteswap - it is only 8 bits wide..

a 27128 would work, yes.

hex2bin.exe it is available using google.

but most eprom burner uses hex.

I will do a 4.15 for me as well, I have an old 1992 release on my combo.
