Jaguars has more different model vehicles in different colors, much better weather and speed.
Lotus 2 has much better general grahics, better seabed, but the vehicles are most alls the same, speed is fast, but not like jaguar. It has maybe much better quality music.

at the end they are very similar becuase one has what miss in the other

I always liked Jaguar more. Vehicle turn animation looked smoother.

Thats Tuff. I really like lotus 2 BUT i got Jaguar XJ220 for Chrismas 1992 along with Rise of the Robots
(Rise even had a Bug that wont allow to finish the game with the fist shipped copies)

Anyway, i played Jaguar XJ220 so much that Chrismas season.
Also, my best buddy and me had a blast in the Career mode.

It has just more to offer that Lotus 2 . If its better?? wll .... thats a personal opinion

I played Jaguar on my A500 and I completed it at the first try. I found that strange because I'm not very good at racing games. I never completed Lotus 2 last race for instance. But there it looked like a walk in the park, with invisible/slow opponents.

Or was it just me? or a bad crack which made the game super easy?

Both were excellent and I bought jaguar after Lotus failed to run on my 1200 and me and the girlfriend (now wife 20 years later) liked playing racing games together. So my vote goes to Lotus...

Lotus 2 for me, blew my socks off while Jaguar was a really nice Lotus clone.

But clearly, Moonshine Racers beats them all. Those darned moonshiners!

XJ220 had the track editor, that was a nice feature. Me and my brother would get frustrated at the time running out on Lotus, so we'd put the cheat in and just race each other!

To me Lotus 2 is the Amiga's best game of this kind, with Crazy Cars 3 / Lambourghini second and Lotus 1 third. It's fast, the handling's spot on (when you think about what the OutRun style games were actually doing - moving the road back instead of moving the car forward - it's amazing that any of them felt remotely right), there's a lovely variety of levels, a great difficulty curve both between levels and (crucially) within the levels as new tasks are added halfway through (one thing Lotus 3 totally failed to get), and that four player-mode.

Jaguar's one I never played back in the day, but it hasn't really hooked me when I've tried it since. I can understand Stuart Campbell's critical view that it's more like an RPG with cars.

(And, yet. I know Stuart didn't really like Lotus 2 either, but I disagree with him there)

LOTUS 2 WINS WITH 57 VOTES, JAGUAR GOT 14, even though Jag got thrashed, many of you feel it's still a great game, it's just that Lotus 2 was that little bit better.

Thanks to all taking part for this edition!

I'm sure ROTR came out later than 1992 (1994/5)..

Oh and Lotus 2 all day, every day!

Back at the time I liked Jaguar more.

Nowadays I think Lotus 2 is a better game. The better speed/framerate pleases me more. I think Lotus 2 aged better in the end.

Lotus 2, that intro music just charms me every time. Very fast game play too - good 2 player and even serial link capabilities.

Had the Mega CD version of XJ220, it was ok just didn't capture my attention the same way Lotus did.
